Now you, our faithful readers, can share your thoughts about software, Softdisk, the meaning of life, the mining of leaves, or anything else that comes to mind!
We are brand new to Softdisk and are pleased with your first offering even though its principal features don╒t add significantly to our operations base. Please let me explain.
We seldom use our Print Shop program now that we have AppleWorks GS, but we would love to have those fonts available for AWGS.
Soft Palette is a very attractive program, but we are currently using PaintWorks Gold. However, there are some features in Soft Palette that PaintWorks lacks. We haven╒t figured out QuickEdit yet (our hard drive went down the same day your package arrived).
We do appreciate G╨Essence and user letters since they provide insights based on the experience of more seasoned users as well as those of you a bit closer to the ╥Source.╙
One last query╤╤do you get any feedback from the Claris Corporation? We are finding them nearly impenetrable (second only to their parent, Apple), and would appreciate any tips on how to get through to them.
Back to Softdisk, we are pleased with your concept and would like to see as many items as possible realted to the AWGS program in future issues. An occasional game is always a welcome addition, too.

Thanks for the comments. About Claris, we just called them for technical support on AppleWorks GS, and went through this sequence (heavily paraphrased):
╥May I help you?╙
╥I need Technical Support for AppleWorks GS.╙
╥Sure.╙ (transferred)
╥What kind of support would you like? Press 1 for technical support. . .╙
╥What kind of computer do you have? Press 1 for Mac, 2 for Apple IIgs . . .╙
╥What software are you using? . . . Press 3 for AppleWorks GS . . . ╙
╥All of our customer support representative are busy. Please hold and the
next available operator will take your call.╙
(Bad muzak)
(Similar but slightly different ╥please wait╙ message)
(More bad muzak)
(Another different but quite similar ╥please wait╙ message)
(More bad muzak. . .)
This went on for ten minutes.
So, yes, we╒ve had trouble with Claris Technical Support. There are no sneaky ╥ins╙ or anything. Try writing to their customer service and complaining. And make sure you aren╒t calling during lunch in California.
Too bad they are making the most popular product for the Apple, huh?
But to be fair, one of our beta testers said that when you actually get to talk to them, they are extremely helpful. Sort of like a guru on top of a mountain, I guess.
