- This is version 1.0: further releases based on registration response!
- Quick help (I didn't have time to write the .HLP file)
-
- PoVReV can create four types of objects for PoV, as triangle data
-
- Revolution: 'Standard' 2D curve spun around Y Axis to create a solid
- Extrusion: Two dimensional curve extruded along the Y Axis
- Loft Curves: The interpolated surface between two 2D curves
- Cross-Sectional Sweep: Sweeping a two 2D curve along the path of another 2D curve
-
- To install:
- Put the .DLLs and .VBXs in the \Windows\system directory
- All other files in any directory you want PoVReV to start from
-
-
- Quick-o tutorial:
- Select New... from the menu and choose the type of object to create.
-
- Move points of the curve(s) by clicking the mouse on the curve and dragging it.
-
- The Insert Button inserts a point Counterclockwise of the current (white) point
- (Note: For Loft Curves, a point will be inserted into the other curve also)
-
- The Delete Button Deletes the current point (minimum 5 points in a curve)
-
- For two curve objects (Loft Curves and XSectional Sweeps), CTRL-1 and CTRL-2
- switch the current curve.
-
- Four views are available: Top,Side,Front,3D. You cannot edit in 3D mode
-
- The object can be displayed in four ways: Points, WiredFrame, Hidden Line, and
- Flat Shaded. Editing can be done only in Point mode.
-
- Select Export when your object is complete and give a filename.
-
- The different curve types use different interpolation methods to generate
- objects. Hermite is turned off because it kept generating GPFs in testing.
- Experiment freely: one point set generates vastly different objects, depending
- on the curve type!
-
- You can Lock a direction so you don't move a point accidently. with CTRL-X,
- CTRL-Y, and CTRL-Z.
-
- Select Settings from the file menu to do the following:
- change color of the Light, Object, and Frame (has no effect on .POV output)
- change the number of divisions (segments) the object creates
- turn grids on and off
