  2. The program MagicMkr (MMK10.ZIP) is released by the author (Ron Lewis) as
  3. FREEWARE.  The author retains all rights to the program.
  4. This is not Public Domain software.  You may use and or
  5. copy this program with all files and documentation free of charge.

  7. REQUIREMENTS:
  8. This program requires MS-DOS 3.3 or above, Windows 3.1, a 24 bit video card
  9. to view 24-bit pictures properly and a sound card or speaker driver for the
  10. help file.
  11. NOTE:  24-bit pictures will display without a 24-bit card but just won't
  12. dither properly.  A sound card recommended but not required.
  13. Recommend 386/33 W/4MB RAM or better machine.

  16. INSTALLATION:
  17. I decided not to make an installation program.  Many people have complained
  18. lately about how an install program places files all over their hard drive
  19. and edits their WIN.INI file without letting them know what it did.
  20. To install this program you need to copy the following files as such:
  21. (Make sure you don't copy an older file over a newer one.  Check file
  22. dates before replacing.)  Also to reduce the file size for downloads and
  23. not make people download duplicate files I did not include VBRUN300.DLL.
  24. This program requires VBRUN300.DLL to be in your Windows or Windows System
  25. directory.  If you do not have this file it is available on most BBS'as
  26. VBRUN300.ZIP.
  27. If you have an older version of one or more of these files in a directory
  28. path that is before where you install these, the program will not load.
  29. Make copies of these older files and put them on a floppy.  Then remove
  30. the older ones from your hard drive.

  32. COPY THE FOLLOWING FILES INTO ANY DIRECTORY YOU MAKE OR CHOOSE:
  33. (Example:  C:\MAGICMKR)
  34. GOODBYE.WAV     MAGICMKR.EXE
  35. MAGICMKR.HLP    README.1ST

  37. The file GOODBYE.WAV needs to be in the same directory as the help file
  38. in order to use it with the exit command.

  40. COPY THE FOLLOWING FILES INTO YOUR WINDOWS SYSTEM DIRECTORY:
  41. (Example:  C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM)
  42. CMDIALOG.VBX    IMGBMP.DIL      IMGEPSF.DIL
  43. IMGGIF.DIL      IMGPCX.DIL      IMGTGA.DIL
  44. IMGTIFF.DIL     IMGWMF.DIL      IMGXBMP.DEL
  45. IMGXPCX.DEL     IMGXTIF.DEL     IMGX.DLL
  46. IMVB1.VBX    THREED.VBX

  48. Once these files are copied you need to create an icon to run the program
  49. in Windows by either dragging the file MAGICMKR.EXE into an existing group
  50. from the file manager or by using the file new method.

  52. TO UNINSTALL THIS PROGRAM DELETE THE FOLLOWING FILES:

  60. Do not delete CMDIALOG.VBX, THREED.VBX, or VBRUN300.DLL as these files may
  61. be used by other programs on your hard drive.

  74. KNOWN BUGS: (Working on them...)
  75. 1.  You can not scale or zoom a picture with the mouse when the window size
  76.     has been maximized.  The program will notify you and then quit.
  77. 2.  Zooming with the mouse can distort the aspect ratio for viewing.
  78. 3.  You can try to save a .WMF file but the operation will not work.
  79. 4.  The directory tree will not default back to the last directory where
  80.     you opened a file.
  81. 5.  Edit copy to the clipboard does not work properly for some video boards.
  82. 6.  The printer's paper size box will not update till the next session.
