- Welcome to Conquest! This is a strategy game similar to RISK,
- and other 'Conquer the World' type games. It has many options to
- make the game more interesting, but you may want to wait until after
- you have played a few games before you try them. One of my design
- objectives was to create a simple user interface which removes
- unnecessary keystrokes, and leaves as much room on the screen as
- possible for the game map. As a result, EGA and a mouse or trackball
- are required to play Conquest. For information on how to play the
- game, either run the game and use the built in help screens, or read
- the file 'Guide.doc.' Write me a note if I can be of help.

- Features of Conquest Version 2.1:

- 1. New options:

- a. Maximum number of armies per territory - limits the number of
- armies that can occupy a single territory.

- b. Plagues - Reduces the number of armies on heavily defended
- territories.

- 2. In-game graphs of player statistics have been added. It plots the
- number of armies and territories per player over the last 20 turns.

- 3. Computer players have been improved to recognize if a single
- opponent is dominating the game.

- 4. The game map can be redraw at anytime by selecting the 'hardware'
- option menu item then pressing the 'refresh display' button. This is
- useful if a display problem comes up.
