- Printing lists and data files is quite simple. You select the appropriate
- item from the PRINT menu and the system does the rest! You should follow
- a few simple rules to achieve the best results for printing.
-
- First it is important that your printer be initialized to accept normal
- characters and fonts. No unusual or exotic characters are utilized in any
- of the printing options. You may want to set the dip-switches on your
- printer so that the IBM graphics set may be printed. Generally this would
- mean that you opt NOT to use the italics character set.
-
- Second please ensure your printer is ON and is in a READY state. You will
- receive an error message if your printer is not READY.
-
- Lastly you should ensure that the printer cable is correctly seated in the
- computer and in the printer. Many printing 'errors' are simply due to
- faulty connections.

- A NOTE ON PAPERWORK
-
- It is pretty common for most of us to collect massive volumes of
- 'hardcopies' as a sort of protection against the loss of data. In
- actuality this is truly a waste of both time and resources. The computer
- should act AS AN ON-LINE IMMEDIATE TOOL FOR VIEWING DATA and therefore
- hard copies are really not necessary. By keeping regular backup disks you
- will protect against data loss - so avoid being a paper collector!
