- Installation and Start-Up

- FITZ is distributed as four (4) files. The files are
- named either (Run1, Run2, Run3, and Run4) or (Bike1,
- Bike2, Bike3, and Bike4) or (Walk1, Walk2, Walk3, and
- Walk4) or (Fit1, Fit2, Fit3, and Fit4) or (FITZ1,
- FITZ2, FITZ3, and FITZ4). It is the same program
- regardless of the name. If you downloaded FITZ from a
- BBS then you have already UNZIPPED this file and the
- following ZIP information may be redundant to you. The
- four files are in ZIP format. They must be UNZIPPED
- using the shareware program PKUNZIP. This program is
- available from most Bulletin Boards (BBS) including
- CompuServe and PC MagNet.

- Unzip the four files to a directory on your hard disk
- or if you are going to run from a dual floppy system
- then unzip each file to a separate floppy. Label the
- unziped floppies as noted below. (The unziped fourth
- disk will be the FITZ Utility Disk)

- . FITZ Program Disk 2
- . FITZ Program Disk 3
- . FITZ Utility Disk

- FITZ may be run on a dual floppy disk system or on a
- hard disk system. For installation guidance proceed to
- the appropriate instructions for your disk system.

- A. Dual Floppy
-
- 1. Make backup copies of the four FITZ disks
- 2. After backing up put away the original FITZ
- disks.
- 3. The original disks serve as your software
- backup
- 4. Use the copies for running FITZ.

- To make backup disks,
- . Insert a FITZ disk in Drive A:
- . Insert a blank formatted disk in Drive B:
- . At the A> prompt type,
- Copy A:*.* B:
- Then press ENTER
- . Label each new disk
- . Repeat above for each FITZ disk

- To start the FITZ program,
- . Insert the copied FITZ Program Disk 1 in
- Drive A:
- . Insert the copied FITZ Utility Disk in
- Drive B:
- . At the A> prompt type,
- FITZ
- Then press ENTER
- . When the program needs a different disk it
- will prompt you with on screen messages
- .. Only disks in Drive A: will need to
- be swapped
- .. The copied FITZ Utility disk should
- always remain in Drive B:

- B. Hard Disk

- 1. Make a sub-directory on your hard disk
- for the FITZ files
- .. The sub-directory name can be of
- your choice
-
- 2. Unzip to this sub-directory or if you unzipped
- to floppies then copy the FITZ Floppy disks to
- this sub-directory

- A. To made a sub-directory named "fitz" on your
- disk in Drive C:
- . Type at the C> prompt,
- md\fitz
- Then press ENTER

- B. Change to this sub-directory by typing at the
- C> prompt,
- cd\fitz
- then press ENTER

- C. To copy the FITZ floppy disks to the sub-
- directory
- . Insert a FITZ disk in Drive A: then
- at the prompt type,
- copy a:*.*
- Then press ENTER
- . Repeat the above step for each FITZ floppy
- disk

- D. To start the FITZ program,
- . At the prompt type,
- FITZ
- Then press ENTER

- Note: In order for FITZ to run properly the "Current
- Directory" must be set to the sub-directory in
- which FITZ is installed.
