  6. With ICS you can make your scans look like from the professionals
  7. ;-)
  8.  
  9. So far there hasn't been any real color correction for scanners on
  10. the  Amiga  nor  are their good scanners supported allowing you to
  11. scan without requiring major color correction after the scan.
  12.  
  13. ICS  is  an  easy  to  setup  and extremly powerfull scanner color
  14. correction.   The first version of ICS allows you to calibrate any
  15. color scanner (incl.  slide scanners) for a wanted monitor/display
  16. standard  (PAL,  sRGB,  NTSC...).   All  you  need to do is scan a
  17. calibration  target,  generate a profile for your scanner with the
  18. included  software  and  select  your monitor.  Next time you scan
  19. with  ICS  enabled, colors from your scanner will be corrected for
  20. your  monitor.   Usualy  the quality improvements are major and no
  21. further user interaction/editing is required to your scans.

  24. ICS can work independent of any kind of scanner software.  So your
  25. scanner  software  must  not  support  ICS in order to make use of
  26. ICS!!!   However,  it is more comfortable if your scanner software
  27. automaticly  calls ICS for color correction during scanning of the
  28. image.   ScanQuix  V4  and  ScanTrax  V2.2  already  support  ICS.
  29. An  ICS  ImageFX hook is available from the ImageFX manufacturer's
  30. ftp site.

  32. ICS  uses  rather  complex methods to color correct scanners.  ICS
  33. makes  use  of  complex  color appearance models and gamut mapping
  34. procedures for a wanted monitor/standard (sRGB, PAL, NTSC...).

  36. Scanner  driver  programmers  find all required info included with
  37. the  achive in order to add ICS support to their software within a
  38. couple of hours.
