  12.     INTREPID is an arcade/strategy game in which you must navigate a
  13. high tech tank through the Antarctic to rescue a scientist taken hostage
  14. by terrorists. Full instructions on your mission and gameplay are
  15. available inside the game by pressing the "NO Questions" button.
  16.  
  17.     To load INTREPID simply double click on its icon or CD to the
  18. Intrepid directory and type "PROJ2 INTREPID" from CLI. You must have the
  19. "RUN" command in the C: directoy for INTREPID to run. Intrepid is very
  20. happy running from a HD. Simply copy the entire directory, with
  21. sub-directories intact, over to the HD.

  23.     This is the latest version of INTREPID as of 1/20/1992. Previous
  24. versions had a bug in the retreat sequence. This, among other things, have
  25. been fixed.

  27.     Information on registration and distribution policy are found
  28. within the game by pressing the "NO QUESTIONS" button.

  30. Some things to keep in mind:
  31.     
  32.     The INTREPID uses most of the 512k of chip ram. You can multitask
  33.     but it might crash the game
  34.  
  35.     If you have over 512k of CHIP ram there are extra sound effects
  36.         For some reason it won't play sounds out of fast RAM. The director
  37.     eats the chip RAM and won't return it without a re-boot. Bug?
  38.  
  39.     The game contains timing routines that should affect an 
  40.     accelerated AMIGA, but they are untested. If there is a problem
  41.     let me know.

  43.     This game was created because of my quest to make an arcade type
  44. action game with the Director. Forgive such things as flashing blits, it
  45. was unavoidable for the sake of speed. As you can see though, the Director
  46. is quite powerful and is definitely more than an animation language. I hope
  47. you enjoy the game. I would like to hear plenty of comments and hopefully
  48. no bug reports. If response is good I plan to improve the graphics as well
  49. as add missions, features, etc. Definitely worth a registration fee!
