- Stop Watch 1.0 © March 28, 1991 by Joe Rattz, Jr.
-
- Stop Watch is a program that times events. It will also time
- intermediate events.
-
- The START gadget starts the timer and displays the system time in the
- START TIME window. The STOP gadget stops the timer and displays the
- time interval from START to STOP in the STOP TIME window. (If system
- time is not set to correct time, Stop Watch will still make its time
- measurements correctly).
-
- The EVENT gadget displays the time interval from START to EVENT in the
- EVENT TIME window. Selecting the EVENT gadget does not stop the
- timing. The EVENT gadget may be selected more than once. Each time
- it is selected, the EVENT TIME (time from start to last event) will be
- displayed in the EVENT TIME window. This gadget only functions after
- the START gadget has been selected and before the STOP gadget has been
- selected. The EVENT function is similar to the Lap function on some
- other timers.
-
- Time is displayed in hours/minutes/seconds/hundredths of seconds.
- The maximum time displayed in the EVENT TIME window and the STOP TIME
- window is 999:59:59:99 (999hours/59minutes/59seconds/99hundredthsecond).
- After that Stop Watch recycles to zero and continues timing. There
- is no upper time limit to Stop Watch, but 1000 hours per recycle must
- be added to the display time if Stop Watch does recycle. It takes
- about 41 2/3 days for Stop Watch to recycle once.
-
- Any time that a time appears in the START TIME window and nothing
- appears in the STOP TIME window, Stop Watch is timing.
-
- The JUMP gadget causes Stop Watch to jump to the next screen and then
- causes that screen (along with Stop Watch) to be brought to the front.
- This allows one to position Stop Watch on the most convenient screen.
-
- The HELP gadget displays a small screen of basic information about
- Stop Watch.
-
- The ABOUT gadget displays the author and publisher of Stop Watch.
-
- The Quit gadget terminates the program.
-
- To conserve memory, one should JUMP Stop Watch to another screen
- before closing the screen that Stop Watch is displayed upon. If a
- screen is closed with Stop Watch being displayed upon it, Stop Watch
- will terminate, but approximately 10kbytes of memory will not be
- returned to the system. Stop Watch may again be selected, however.
-
- The overall accuracy of Stop Watch should be considered to be about
- .25 seconds (250 milliseconds). The actual accuracy of Stop Watch,
- itself, should be about .02 seconds (20 milliseconds) or greater.
- However, after taking into consideration how long it takes to select a
- gadget (EVENT or STOP) after one decides to, the accuracy drops to
- about .25 seconds.
