  1.         For NoteBook file viewer version 1.0 - December 11th, 1991

  4. To install the NoteBook Viewer, perform the following steps. They assume
  5. that you have un-lharced the file into RAM:, and that you have room on
  6. your working partition for the viewer. Installation requires about 100k
  7. of free disk space. If you like, you can "Power-Pack" the viewer; this
  8. will save a considerable amount of disk space, but will cause the program
  9. to startup quite a bit slower.
  10.  
  11.     1 - go to the ram: device;
  12.     
  13.             cd ram:
  14.             -------
  15.  
  16.     2 - copy the file "swall.font" to your "fonts:" assignment;
  17.     
  18.             copy swall.font TO fonts:
  19.             -------------------------
  20.  
  21.     3 - make a directory to contain the font;
  22.     
  23.             makedir fonts:swall
  24.             -------------------
  25.  
  26.     4 - copy the file "9" to "fonts:swall"
  27.     
  28.             copy 9 TO fonts:swall
  29.             ---------------------

  31.     5 - copy the veiwer program to your c: directory;
  32.     
  33.             copy NBView TO c:
  34.             -----------------

  36.     6 - copy the viewer ICON to the location where you
  37.         want it. For instance, if you want the viewer
  38.         available from the root of your harddrive, and
  39.         your hard drive has the name "DH0:", then you
  40.         would type;
  41.         
  42.             copy NBView.info TO DH0:
  43.             ------------------------
  44.         
  45.         This assumes that you use a NON-interlace WorkBench screen
  46.         under OS 2.0. If you use an interlace mode screen, use the
  47.         other ICON we have provided, this way;

  49.             copy NBViewL.info TO dh0:NBView.info
  50.             ------------------------------------

  52.         Please be aware that the previous command actually
  53.         renames the icon - type it exactly or it won't work.
  54.  
  55.         NOTE: Under the current release of the Amiga operating
  56.               system, you can place the ICON for the NBView
  57.               software anywhere and it will find the NBView
  58.               program in c: automatically. Under 1.3, the ICON
  59.               must be in the same location as the program. The
  60.               installation instructions assume you are using
  61.               the 2.0 release of the operating system.

  63. This complete the installation of the viewer software. You can invoke the
  64. viewer from the CLI or SHELL by typing;
  65.  
  66.     NBView <filename>
  67.  
  68. Where <filename> is the name of a valid NoteBook file.
  69.  
  70. From the WorkBench, the usual selection proceedures work.
  71.  
  72. The viewer can also load notebook files from inside when it is started
  73. without a notebook file.

  75. To automatically load the viewer, attach an ICON to the notebook file
  76. and set the default tool to "c:NBView".
