- --------------- MEDPlayer V3.00 instructions - Teijo Kinnunen 27.1.1991 ---
-
- MEDPlayer is a program, which you can use to play MED songs without MED.
- You can use it from Workbench or CLI.
-
- MEDPlayer V3.00 can load MED V2.10/MED V3.00 sng+samples-format and
- MMD0-modules. It can't load MED songs or files created with previous
- versions of MED. Why?? Because I think it is more important that MEDPlayer
- is as compact and quick as possible instead of the ability to load millions
- of file formats. You can convert older files by loading them to MED V3.00
- and saving them back again. Please note that there may be problems with
- playing speed when loading modules saved with MED V2.10. In that case, load
- the module in MED V3.00, correct the tempo2 and save it back.
-
- Now there's only one version of MED that can play both MIDI- and non-MIDI
- songs. There's a gadget that allows to allocate/free serial hardware.
- It's normally handled automatically by MEDPlayer when loading songs.
-
- MEDPlayer V3.00 has now a new "2.0-look", and it works well under 2.0
- (of course).
-
- And now, the usage:
-
- CLI:
- medplayer <song>
-
- <song> is optional. If not specified, MEDPlayer window
- appears and waits for your interaction. If <song> is
- present, then the song is loaded. If it loaded OK,
- then the playing will start. Press Ctrl-C to quit.
-
- WB:
- Double-click the icon. You can also set the "Default tool"-field
- of the .info file (default is "MEDPlayer"). MEDPlayer opens in
- the interactive mode when started from WB.
-
- The window:
- If you started MEDPlayer in the interactive mode, the window
- appears. Type in the name of the song/module. Then press
- Return to load it. "Play" starts playing, "Cont" continues it,
- "Stop" stops. Quit with the close gadget. You can load another
- song by entering a new name to the string gadget.
- MIDI-gadget allows you to allocate/free serial hardware at any
- moment. When it reads: MIDI:Y, you can play MIDI-songs.
