- Elements Revision History
- -------------------------
-
-
- 04-28-89
-
- This is version 1.2, an update to the one originally sent to Fred Fish. It
- loads faster and takes up less disk space due to the data files being
- converted to binary format. A tiny bug in the radioactive isotopes window
- has been fixed too.
- It now allows more than one element to be opened at once, as well as any of
- the Info windows. This now makes close comparisons of more than one element
- possible. There is no limit to the number of element windows opened at once
- (except by CHIP RAM), but the screen tends to fill quickly with those
- windows, so any more than four at once would seem unnecessary.
-
- If there are any new releases, rest assured that they will be much smaller,
- because Lattice v5.0 is on its way!

-
- This is version 1.2a, an update to the update, with one minor bug in the
- element selection routine fixed, a "Quit" menu option and no CLOSE gadget
- on the main window (to avoid confusion - some people quit the program by
- accident), a slightly enhanced color map, and row indicators. It's also
- now compiled under Lattice "C" v5.02, and much smaller and slightly faster.

-
- 12-19-89 RELEASE
-
- This is version 1.3, adding non-interlace mode (by request - flicker really
- doesn't bother me, but thanks to those of you that wrote and asked for it!)
- and extend-selection of two elements which details some bonding information
- about the two elements. Check out the Instructions window from the menu (or
- press the HELP key - novel idea, eh? It's RAWKEY code 0x5F guys, to those of
- you that don't use it!).
-
- Enjoy. - Paul

-
- 07-12-90 RELEASE
-
- Version 2.0 (Elements II), now supporting general row and column information
- and a TEST mode, where you get asked questions about selected elements or
- rows/columns. After you answer the question, it shows you the correct
- answer. Not very elaborate, but it quizzes you on common questions non-the-
- less!
- Coming up, Elements 2.1. WorkBench 2.0 compatible, and no more green-on-
- green color-scheme - this one takes its colors from Preferences.
-
- Enjoy... -Paul

-
- 07-31-90 RELEASE
-
- Version 2.01, removing the hard-coded "green-on-green" colormap. I also
- changed the data file device to "ELEMENTS_DAT:" for easier assignment on a
- hard drive (how many DAT: devices out there??) - now that I have a hard
- drive, I can appreciate problems this could cause.
- I've included a utility program to convert the basic ASCII element name file
- into the binary file used by Elements (this program is named, aptly,
- "Convert"). With this you can type in different names for the elements and
- symbols. Read the Convert.doc file for more information.
-
-
- 08-15-90 RELEASE
-
- Version 2.2, now completely (and utterly) WorkBench release 2.0 compatible!
- I've added fancy 2.0 "new-look" graphics, a scrollable non-interlace screen
- option, and tweaked the elements data file somewhat (again) and therefore
- I've modified the Convert utility as well. Do not attempt to run this under
- 1.3, as it will not work! Hope you like it, though! (if you have 2.0)
-
-
- 10-01-90 RELEASE
-
- Version 2.3, now 1.3 and 2.0 compatible. It senses what operating system it
- is run under, and will use imagery/special features pertaining to that OS.
- (Nifty, huh?) Sorry I didn't get a version out like those sooner, but I
- wanted to rush a 2.0 version ASAP. I've also increased the length of
- element names supported for use with an optional German element name file.
- Also find included "elements.DAT.GER" submitted by Andreas Mack. This is
- a German elements name file. Rename it to "elements.DAT" and enjoy. Thanks,
- Andreas!
