- Heifner Communications is involved in the distribution of cable
- television programming via satellite to facilities accross the USA. We are
- prepairing to begin offering a new channel to launch in 1991, The Sci-Fi
- Channel. This annimation was prepared for a Amiga driven computer display
- along with about 40 meg of other annimations to be played in real-time on
- monitors.
- This program was created with a detailed model of the Enterprise from
- Star-Trek, the Next Generation. The model was digitized with Digi-View Gold,
- painted with Digi-Paint, then annimated with DeluxePaintIII. It's in
- overscan mode and uses halfbright, so if it doesn't look right on your
- system, consider the above.
- Run the annimation with SuperView, (other programs seem to also work) a
- program available on this and other boards.
-
- SuperView -c [directory for file]:Sci-Fi_Channel
-
- Use the "-c" option to suppress color cycling, it ruins the effect.
-
- I am beginning to experiment with motorization control to track and
- photograph models in the same manner that is used by the studios, only I use
- Digi-View to directly import the images into the Amiga for additional
- manipulation, such as Turbo-Silver rendering of planets. An example of this
- effect is also available on Compuserve under the KEY- Enterprise.
-
- I am a LONG time lover of all STAR TREK series, but really love the new
- series. The Enterprise is a great subject as there are all sorts of details
- available, as well a nice model kit to work from.
-
- The next animation, that is almost finished, revolves the Enterprise
- through 360 degrees, with full modeling.
-
- Hope you like it... Greg Heifner
