  1. This archive was originally intended for the Mac, and has been
  2. converted for use on the Amiga.  The changes were:
  3.  
  4.  Read the original mac files into the Amiga using mac-2-dos
  5.  Convert the bitmap fonts using "mAFont"
  6.  Convert the mac postscript font file to Amiga ascii format (using "mAText")
  7.  Convert the mac ascii readme file to Amiga ascii format (using "mAText")
  8.  Convert the Adobe Font Metric (.AFM) file from mac ascii
  9.     to Amiga ascii format (using "mAText")
  10.  
  11. You should be able to use them with any PostScript interpreter.  To use
  12. them with "Post" (V0.2) make a directory "PSFonts:" - if you do not have one
  13. already.  Then copy the file "Hamburg" to it, preserving case.
  14. If you use the file "init.ps" as supplied you will then be able to use
  15. findfont to automatically download them.

  17. To use the amiga format bitmap fonts uncompress the file "ham.bmap.lzh"
  18. into your FONTS: directory using "lharc -x x ham.bmap.lzh"

  25. How to use this font
  26.  
  27. 1. Copy the Hamburg.bmap Screen fonts into your System file
  28.    with Apple's Font/DA Mover.
  29.  
  30. 2. Place the Hambu file (the one that looks like a LaserWriter
  31.    with a T on the top) in your System Folder. DO NOT RENAME IT.
  32.  
  33. 3. Select the font as you normally would in any application
  34.    which allows font selection.
  35.  
  36. 4. The Macintosh will automatically send the font to the
  37.    LaserWriter; however, it will take longer than usual to
  38.    print the document.
