  1. The font in this archive is shareware: please read the notice below, which
  2. is from the author.  It was originally intended for the Mac, and has been
  3. converted for use on the Amiga.  The changes were:
  4.  
  5.     Convert to Amiga file format
  6.     Discard the bitmaps (the conversion program would not convert them)
  7.     Uncomment the Unique Id's
  8.     Replace the Mac encoding with the standard encoding
  9.  
  10. You should be able to use them with any PostScript interpreter.  To use
  11. them with "Post" (V0.2) make a directory PSFonts - if you do not have one
  12. already.  Then copy the files to it, preserving case.  If you use the
  13. file "init.ps" as supplied you will then be able to use findfont to
  14. automatically download them.

  25. The fee for this typeface is $15 as is, check or money order(preferred).
  26. Or send $20 and a disk and a list of the sizes of the bitmaps you would like
  27. to have and I will try to oblige (within reason...like, don't ask for 127
  28. point,etc...).  Also, I can include (and probably will anyway) varying
  29. spaces to help you set your own type.  I like very close spacing, but if you
  30. like to spread out your type, then this will be available from within the
  31. font itself.  This capability will be for those people who don't have all the
  32. fancy new software that will do manual kerning, etc. (available only to
  33. registered owners). [proposed spacing - units based on selected point size -
  34. 1,1/2,1/4,1/8,1/16,1/32,1/64 and maybe smaller]

  38. Previously, I had become very discouraged by distributing my work on
  39. CompuServe.  A couple of bad experiences made it difficult for me to
  40. continue.  However, recently I have received some recognition (Thank you
  41. Richard Eckhardt), and it has made me rethink my position.

  43. The economy is bad in Louisiana and I am not doing well.  You may have
  44. noticed the address change.  I cannot afford the time on CompuServe except
  45. for uploading.  Also, my troubles are your gain for neither can I afford to
  46. do any other kind of marketing for my work other than ShareWare (they would
  47. cost at least twice as much or more).  And just having me "sit on these
  48. faces" (pun intended) is not doing any good for myself or anyone else.

  50. My first uploads to CompuServe were rather primitive attempts.  I think
  51. now you will find that I am capable of good - excellent quality alter-
  52. natives to the "higher priced spreads".

  54. I will assume you know what to do with this typeface.
  55.    (use Font/DA Mover 3.2 or higher, don't let Font/DA Mover change the
  56.     font id, etc...)

  62. There is only one size bitmap with this typeface (I'm trying to keep my long
  63. distance and your download charges to a minimum).  And there is a good chance
  64. that it is not very clean (some of them are however, and even print fairly
  65. well on ImageWriter - besides, LaserWriter doesn't care what the bitmaps look
  66. like - you can use geneva first, then switch to this face before printing).
  67. It will however, automatically download to any PostScript Device i.e.
  68. LaserWriter, Linotronic, or any of the new PostScript printers that are
  69. accessed by AppleTalk.  (Versions of this typeface can be prepared for manual
  70. downloading as a text only file for non-Macintosh computers if the need should arise.)

  72. If you should happen to investigate any of the other typefaces I've uploaded
  73. you will probably discover that this is a form letter tacked on to every one 
  74. of them.  You can skip reading the others, however, the ShareWare fee
  75. remains.

  82. P.S. If you are curious as to what happened to Calligraphic, I had to shelve
  83. it.  It doesn't work with the newer LaserWriter software.  The new
  84. Fontographer software was supposed to fix the problems.  The recompiled
  85. Calligraphic worked with the new LW software but the decorative letters don't
  86. print properly (they turn out with black letters on the background, and they
  87. are supposed to be white - I haven't been able to fix it - maybe with the
  88. next release of Fontographer).  Furthermore, it would only work if
  89. ZapfChancery was available, which leaves out regular LW users
  90.
