  9. All     - Selects all filenames and directories in the current
  10.           directory or ZIP file that satisfy the INCLUDE and 
  11.           EXCLUDE patterns.
  12.  
  13. CLEAR -   De-selects all filenames and directories in the current
  14.           directory or ZIP file.
  15.  
  16. COPY    - Copies all selected files from the current directory or ZIP
  17.           file to the destination specified in the DESTINATION window.
  18.           Dates, protection attributes and comments are also copied.  If
  19.           the file already exists in the DESTINATION directory, it is
  20.           skipped.
  21.           
  22.           There is one exception to this: if the DESTINATION  is the 
  23.           same as the SRC directory, then there is one chance to rename
  24.           the file and the copy is performed to the new filename.
  25.  
  26.           Copy is fully recusive and will copy all files and 
  27.           directories from a selected directory.
  28.  
  29. DELETE  - Deletes all selected files in the current directory or ZIP 
  30.           file.  This function will prompt for confirmation.
  31.  
  32.           WARNING: Delete is fully recursive and will delete all files
  33.           and directories found in any selected directory.  Delete will
  34.           request a second confirmation before proceeding.
  35.  
  36. INFO    - Activates the File Attribute Editor.  This allows you to 
  37.           rename files, edit AmigaDOS and ZIP file comments and change
  38.           the file attributes (HSPA RWED) using buttons.  Once changes
  39.           are made, use the mouse to select the SAVE button to store
  40.           the changes and return to the file list window.  Select the 
  41.           ABORT button to return to the file list window without 
  42.           altering the current selection.  ABORT also cancels any 
  43.           pending file selections.  Select the QUIT button to return
  44.           to the file list window without altering the current 
  45.           selection.
  46.  
  47.           Info also displays the Compressed Size, Compression Method
  48.           and the Compression Ratio if the selected file is inside a 
  49.           ZIP file.
  50.  
  51. DISPLAY - Displays all selected files in the current directory or ZIP 
  52.           file.  Each file is displayed in the order it is displayed.
  53.           Pressing the right mouse button or clicking in the Display
  54.           Window close-box will advance to the next selected file in
  55.           the list.
  56.  
  57.           Click the mouse in the top half of the display screen to 
  58.           scroll towards the beginning of the file.  Click the mouse
  59.           in the bottom half of screen to scroll towards the end of the
  60.           file. (Or use the Arrow buttons or slider to scroll.)
  61.  
  62. PRINT   - Prints all selected files in the current directory or ZIP 
  63.           file to the selected printer device (PRT: PAR: or SER:).
  64.         
  65. INCLUDE - Presents a tool that allows you to insert up to three masks
  66.           which will be used to determine which files ARE displayed in
  67.           the files window.  This is a handy way to reduce clutter
  68.           while viewing files or ZIP listings.
  69.  
  70. PALETTE - Presents a tool which allows you to change the colors of the
  71.           screen.  Click on each color button and use the color sliders
  72.           to change that color.  Pressing the OK button will enable 
  73.           PKAZIP to use the current selections. Pressing the CANCEL
  74.           button aborts any color pending color changes and exits the
  75.           Palette tool.  Pressing the RESET button returns the colors
  76.           to the settings which were active on entry to the Palette
  77.           tool but does not exit the Palette tool.
  78.  
  79. ABORT   - Abort the current operation.
  80.      
  81. UNZIP   - Extracts (decompresses) all selected ZIP files to the
  82.           destination directory specified in the DESTINATION window.
  83.           Decompression rules are specified using the EXTRACT pull-down
  84.           menu.
  85.  
  86. ZIP     - Compresses selected files and adds them to the ZIP file 
  87.           specified in the DESTINATION window.  Compression rules are
  88.           specified using the ADD pull-down menu.
  89.  
  90. TEST    - Tests all selected ZIP files by recalculating the 32-bit
  91.           CRC (Cyclic Redundany Check) for each file.
  92.  
  93. SEARCH  - Searches from the current directory for all files that match
  94.           the filename specified in the search string box.  This search
  95.           is fully recursive and extends into all subdirectories
  96.           contained in the current directory.  
  97.           
  98.           NOTE: This search also extends into all filenames contained
  99.           in ZIP files!
  100.  
  101. PARENT  - Moves to the directory above the current directory.  Movement
  102.           is toward the root of the disk.  For example, if the current
  103.           directory is DF0:TEST/MANY then pressing PARENT will change
  104.           the current directory to DF0:TEST.  If the contents of a ZIP
  105.           file are being displayed, the PARENT button will exit the ZIP
  106.           file and display the normal DOS directory listing.
  107.  
  108. COMMENT - Toggles the file list display between file or ZIP comments
  109.           and file displays using size, date and time attributes.  An
  110.           example of the file list display with comments is:
  111.

  138. EXTRACT - This menu contains those options used during file 
  139.           de-compression: 
  140.  
  141.           UNCONDITIONAL    -  All selected files are extracted to the 
  142.                               destination directory.
  143.  
  144.           NEWER FILES ONLY -  Only files which have newer dates than the
  145.                               destination files are extracted.
  146.  
  147.           ASK IF EXISTS    -  If a file already exists in the 
  148.                               destination directory, prompt the user
  149.                               for permission to over-write it.
  150.  
  151.           FULL PATHNAMES   -  Extract the file using the full pathname
  152.                               and filename.  If the pathname does not 
  153.                               exist, this operation will ask you if you 
  154.                               want to create it.  If you answer YES, the
  155.                               destination directory will be created and
  156.                               the files will be extracted to it.  If you
  157.                               answer NO, the file will be skipped.
  158.  
  159.           USE FILENOTES    -  Writes any filenote assigned to a
  160.                               compressed file as an Amig DOS filenote 
  161.                               for that file.

  163. ADD     - This menu contains those options used during file 
  164.           compression:
  165.  
  166.           UNCONDITIONAL    -  All selected files are compressed and 
  167.                               added to the destination ZIP file.
  168.  
  169.           NEWER FILES ONLY -  Only files which already exist in the ZIP
  170.                               file and have dates newer than the 
  171.                               existing ZIP files will be added to the
  172.                               ZIP file.
  173.  
  174.           NOT IN CATALOG   -  Only files which are not already
  175.                               compressed and in the ZIP catalog are
  176.                               compressed and added to the destination
  177.                               ZIP file.
  178.  
  179.           AFTER DATE       -  Only the files which have dates later 
  180.                               than the date specified in the DATE box
  181.                               will be compressed and added to the ZIP
  182.                                file.
  183.  
  184.           ARCHIVE BIT      -  Only those files that have their
  185.                               Archive Bit reset will be compressed and
  186.                               added to the ZIP file.  The Archive Bit
  187.                               for each file will then be set to indicate
  188.                               the file has been archived.
  189.  
  190.           ENCRYPT          -  As files are compressed and added to the
  191.                               ZIP file, they will be encoded so they
  192.                               can not be extracted without the proper
  193.                               password.
  194.  
  195.           MOVE             -  After files are compressed and added to
  196.                               the ZIP file, they will be deleted.
  197.  
  198.           FULL PATHNAMES   -  Compressed files are saved with either
  199.                               their full pathname, less the source drive
  200.                               designation, or just the filename itself.
  201.      
  202.           USE FILENOTES    -  Amiga DOS filenotes for each compressed
  203.                               file are saved in the ZIP file.
  204.  
  205. PRINT   - This menu contains options to select PRT:, PAR: or SER: as
  206.           the output device.  It also offers an option to perform an
  207.           automatic formfeed between each printed file.
  208.           
  209. PREFERENCES -  This menu provides selections to change the default
  210.                operation of PKAZIP:
  211.      
  212.           SORT FILE LIST                   
  213.  
  214.                BY NAME      - Sorts the file list alphabetically
  215.                ASCENDING      from A to Z.  Directories are placed
  216.                               at the beginning of the list.
  217.  
  218.                BY NAME      - Sorts the file list alphabetically
  219.                DECENDING      from Z to A. Directories are placed
  220.                               at the beginning of the list.
  221.  
  222.                BY DATE/TIME - Sorts the file list with the newest
  223.                NEWEST FIRST   files first.  Directories are placed
  224.                               at the beginning of the list.
  225.  
  226.                BY DATE/TIME - Sorts the file list with the oldest
  227.                OLDEST FIRST   files first.  Directories are placed
  228.                               at the beginning of the list.
  229.  
  230.                NONE         - Display files using natural order.
  231.  
  232.           ENABLE FILTERS    - Display filenames which pass the
  233.                               Include and Exclude filters.  
  234.  
  235.           ENABLE SIZING     - Displays the total size of the selected
  236.                               files and directories to make it easy to
  237.                               determine if the selected files and
  238.                               directories fit on the destination drive.
  239.  
  240.           SAVE PREFERENCES  - Saves choices from the PRINT and
  241.                               PREFERENCE menus.  The contents of the
  242.                               INCLUDE and EXCLUDE filters, PALETTE
  243.                               choices and state of the COMMENT button
  244.                               are also saved.
  245.  
  246.           LOAD PREFERENCES  - Loads the saved preferences into PKAZIP.
  247.  
  248.           RESET PREFERENCES - Reset preferences back to the factory state.

  272. Double clicking on a directory name will change the current directory
  273. to that directory.  This will display those files found in the new
  274. CURRENT DIRECTORY.
  275.  
  276. Double clicking on a ZIP file will display the list of files that are
  277. contained inside the ZIP file.  Pressing PARENT will return to the 
  278. normal AmigaDOS file list.
  279.  
  280. Double clicking on a filename will display that file just as if you
  281. had selected it and pressed the DISPLAY button.  Pressing the right 
  282. mouse button or clicking in the Window close box will return the 
  283. display to the file list.
  284.  
  285. Files are NOT deselected after copying to facilitate moving files from
  286. the Source Directory to the Destination Directory.  Once the files 
  287. are copied, they can be deleted from the source directory because
  288. they are still marked.  If you do not want to delete them, simply 
  289. select the CLEAR button to deselect them.
  290.  
  291. Preferences are loaded every time PKAZIP is run.
  292.  
  293. The mouse may also be used to scroll a file in the DISPLAY mode.
  294. Clicking and holding the left mouse button in the top half of the 
  295. display will scroll the file downwards while clicking and hold the 
  296. left mouse button in the bottom half of the screen will scroll the 
  297. file upwards.

  299. The mouse can also be used to control the slider and arrow buttons
  300. in the file display mode.
  301.  
  302. WILDCARDS:  Wildcards are compatible with MS-DOS and UNIX.  The '*' 
  303. references any character and '?' indicates any single character.
  304.  
  305.      Examples:
  306.  
  307.           ??.c            any two letter file with a .c extension
  308.       ??now*.c            would match xynowben.c
  309.            *.zip          any filename with a .zip extension
  310.            *.??           any filename with a two letter extension
