- purposes. You are encouraged to copy it. But only the author is allowed
- to gain any profit by using and/or distributing it. You are not allowed
- to change any part of the program.
-
-
- You may use TextDisplay instead of LESS/MORE. You can use mouse or keyboard
- to read the text. And it has only 41% of LESS' size and it is totally written
- in machine code.
-
- How to use it :
- ---------------
-
- CLI : TextDisplay [filename]
- WB : double click the icon
-
-
- There a lot of new things - press the right mouse button and take a look :
-
-
- Preferences : cut on the right : the text will be lost on the right
- side but the window needn't be updated.
- Or the text will be continued in the
- next line.
- use tab to set cursor : Tabs will be used to set the cursor.
- Well, for examples, DevPac sources codes
- will be easier to read.
- repeat on : The two SLOW arrows will now move
- the text until you stop pressing the
- button.
- exit at bottom : You can automatically leave TextDisplay
- when you reach the bottom.
-
- All these options can be switched on and off .
-
- Set Tab : Enter how many spaces are a tab [3-16].
- Activate the Gadget and press RETURN to
- exit.
-
-
- Print Print file : The whole text will be printed (of course,
- you need a printer !)
- Print page : The page you can see will be printed .
-
- replace tabs : If this option is activated, all tabs will
- be replaced by spaces (You will need it if
- you want to print a DevPac sources code,
- or this instructions)
- This option can also switched on and off.
-
- Set label You can set up to 5 labels.
-
- Go to label TextDisplay will jump to the label.
-
-
-
- But you can also use the keyboard (I tried to use the same keys like
- LESS):
-
- key function
- ( with or without SHIFT)
-
- q : exit
- e,j,CR : move down text one line
- d,f,SPACE : " " " 10 lines
- y,k : move up text one line
- b,u : " " " 10 lines
-
-
-
-
- If the text file has an icon you can preset some options. On the Workbench
- click icon and menu Workbench/Info. Default tool has to be ":TextDisplay".
- Use enter at ToolTypes the following things (in capital letters):
-
- CUT=YES or CUT=NO : cut text on the right (Yes/no)
- SET=YES or YES=NO : use tab to set cursor (Yes/no)
- TAB=x TAB=xx : set tab (3-16)
-
-
- Use SAVE to save entries.
-
-
-
- New Features of V1.5
- - TextDisplay uses its own faster TEXT function.
- - You can move around the whole text
- - the number of window refreshes has been reduced.
- - select INFO and you can see the total file size and the number of lines
- (that's important if want to print the text- believe me ....).
-
-
- About V1.51 :
- - the routine to cut off the text the right side has been rewritten.
-
-
- Well, it's time to say thanks to Uwe Gerlach from Darmstadt/FRG for his
- suggestions. Please, if you have suggestions (or a report about a bug ),
- send them to me (a post card is enough).
