  1. Zoom In Help Information

  3. The Mandlebrot set is inifite in
  4. detail.  Inside a given
  5. "interesting" picture, there are an
  6. infinite number of other
  7. "interesting" pictures waiting to be
  8. generated.
  9.  
  10. When MandelVroom first starts up, it
  11. begins by generating a large picture
  12. of the Mandelbrot set.  All the
  13. Mandelbrot pictures you've ever seen
  14. exist somewhere within this picture.
  15.  
  16. You can select a region within a
  17. given picture as the basis for your
  18. next picture by using a tool called
  19. the Zoom Box.
  20.  
  21. When you select small regions within
  22. a picture as the region for your
  23. next picture, you are zooming in.
  24. If you were looking at a given
  25. picture using a zoom lens, you can
  26. think of zooming in as increasing
  27. the magnification factor of the
  28. lens.
  29.  
  30. These are the steps to zooming in:
  31.  
  32.   1. Open a new project using the
  33.      New Project menu item.
  34.  
  35.   2. Pull down the In subitem of the
  36.      Zoom menu item, or press the
  37.      "I" button in the right margin
  38.      of your new project.
  39.  
  40.   3. Place the mouse cursor over
  41.      where you want the upper left
  42.      hand corner of the Zoom Box,
  43.      and press and hold the left
  44.      mouse button.
  45.  
  46.   4. While holding down the left
  47.      mouse button, slide the mouse
  48.      down and to the right.
  49.  
  50.   5. Once the Zoom Box is the
  51.      desired size, release the left
  52.      mouse button.

  54. Once you've placed the Zoom Box you
  55. must start the picture generating
  56. to complete the zoom in process.

  59. ZOOM BOX OPERATION
  60.  
  61. The Zoom Box is a rectangular box
  62. that you can move around in a
  63. picture.  Once it's opened, the
  64. Zoom Box looks like this:
