- 1. Simple description
-
- This program helps you to choose your preferences for the Alex
- emulator for the Amiga. It lets you choose:
-
- - Phone numbers associated with each class of services
- (Alex 1, Alex 2,...).
- - Favorite language, french or english.
- - Type of phone line, pulse or tone.
- - Colors of the status indicators and stripe.
-
- 2. Getting started
-
- Simply double-click with the left mouse button over the Editor
- icon.
-
- 3. General view
-
- This editor consists of two pages. The first one contains
- the phone numbers, the preferences for language and type
- of phone line, and the OK and CANCEL buttons. The other page
- contains buttons and cursors in order to choose the colors
- of the status indicators and the stripe containing the Alex
- function keys.
-
- 4. Phone numbers
-
- For each phone number there is a name associated with it
- (usually the class of service). You can see before the phone
- number, the name associated with it. You can change either
- of them by clicking over the right box and editing what is
- in the box like a normal line of text with the delete and
- backspace keys. When you are finished with one box press
- return or click another box.
-
-
-
-
- 5. Favorite language and type of phone line
-
- You just have to click over the language or the type of line button.
- On this button is written the current language or type of line. Click
- it and it will change.
-
- 6. Colors of the status indicators and the stripe
-
- First you have to select the next page by clicking over the
- colors button.
-
- At your right will appear a phone, a terminal, a parity error
- indicator and a portion of the stripe containing the Alex function
- buttons. The first three icons are indicators of the state of the
- emulator. They use the same colors. The stripe use it's own set of
- colors. To change a color in the first set of color you click over
- one of three big buttons on the top presenting the colors. Once
- you've selcted a color, the cursors at the left of the screen will
- adjust to display how much of Red, Green and Blue this color
- contains. By moving one of the cursors, red, green or blue, you will
- change the ratio of red, green or blue in the selected color. You do
- the the same thing for the stripe except that the colors are at the
- bottom of the others. When you've finished select OK to return to
- first page or CANCEL to return to first page but with no change with
- the colors.
-
- The two buttons on the top of the screen 'Last Saved' and
- 'Default' are used to select the whole set of colors that
- was last saved or the default colors.
