  12. Permission for the non-commercial distribution of Stamp Collector by
  13. Dr. Gandalf is hereby granted. Non-commercial distribution is defined as
  14. distribution by user groups, individuals, bulletin boards, and not for
  15. profit, public service public domain disk distributors.
  16. Any manufacturer of hardware or software is specifically enjoined from the
  17. public distribution of any part of Stamp Collector by Dr. Gandalf, except
  18. if written arrangements are made with the author (not that I wouldn't be
  19. willing to make such arrangements).

  22. Now that we have finished with that silliness,

  24. 2. How it was made:
  25. -----------------------------------------------------------------------------
  26. The original images were generated using Turbo Silver, a commercial
  27. ray-tracing program from Impulse Inc, which has a good object editor
  28. and very rapid image generation time. There are 149 images, totalling
  29. 2667803 bytes. The images took about 500-600 hours of computing time on
  30. standard 68000 based Amigas. (Anybody want to send me a 68020 board to
  31. evaluate?) The images were tweaked with PrismPlus (Impulse Inc) and
  32. Digi-Paint (New-Tek). After compression and assembly with Byte-by-Byte's
  33. public domain sequencer, MOVIE, the finished animation file is 276820 bytes
  34. long, which will run easily in a 512K Amiga.

  36. 3. How to view it:

  38. To play it from a CLI:
  39.    - Put Stamp_Collector, and a copy of MOVIE (version 1.2 or higher) in
  40.          the same directory or on the same disk
  41.    - CD to that disk or directory
  42.    - Set the STACK to 16000
  43.    - Type
  44.         1> Movie Stamp_Collector
  45.  
  46. To play it from Workbench:
  47.    - Put Stamp_Collector, Stamp_Collector.info, and a copy of MOVIE
  48.         (version 1.2 or higher) on the same disk
  49.    - Open the disk icon, and double-click the Stamp Collector icon.

  54. I hope you enjoy Stamp Collector. If you do, you can pay me back by
  55. coming up with some interesting animation and graphics of your own and
  56. distibuting them.
  57. Note that there is also an interlaced version of Stamp Collector 
  58. available, which requires an Amiga with more than 512K of memory.
