- "FunIcons":
-
- The various screen-hacks and graphic demos available in the public-domain
- are a great way to show off the Amiga. However, one problem with many of
- them is that they can't be run from the WorkBench, usually because the authors
- simply didn't bother to make icons for them. Well, here's my answer...
- a set of icons for some of the more popular screen-hacks and demos that I
- happen to like...
-
- The programs these icons are used for are well-known enough that you should
- either already have them (if you don't, where have you been??), or be able to
- find them on a good network like PeopleLink's AmigaZone or your friendly
- neighborhood Amiga BBS:
-
-
-
- The following icons are TOOL type. Just put them into the same directory as
- the program of the same name (e.g. "Viacom.info" goes with "Viacom").
-
- Viacom.info
- Suck.info
- WBLander.info
- Melt.info
- Scat!.info
- Grains.info
- RobotRoff.info
- Oing.info
- AmiBug.info
- BenchQuake.info
- Blur.info
- JumpBench.info
- Trails.info
- Tilt.info
- LPM.info
- FlowWeb.info
- Stars.info

- The following icons are PROJECT type. The programs they correspond to either
- crash if run directly by icon, or require an argument. These icons can be
- used to run these programs via the public-domain utility "XIcon2".
- (I leave it to you to obtain "XIcon2" and read its documentation to
- figure out how to use it... and note that this is for the PUBLIC-DOMAIN
- version "Xicon2", NOT the Commodore version with the similar name of "XIcon".
- I understand that with WB 1.3 CBM will officially release their version under
- the new name of "IconX" to avoid further confusion).
-
- These icons are set up as follows:
-
- a. The tool-type is set to ":c/XIcon" which assumes that "XIcon"
- is located in the "C" subdirectory of the root-directory of the
- disk on which the icon is located. Change this to your own
- desired path.
-
- b. The icon is associated with an ASCII execute-file that must be
- located in the same directory as the icon itself. The ASCII files
- I use are included here, and give an explicit path that must be
- changed for the particular disk YOU place it on. For example, the
- files I include here assume a disk named "FUN!!" that has
- subdirectories (drawers) named "ScreenHacks" and "Demos", since that
- is how I have my own disk set up.
-
- (Read the docs to XIcon2 for the gory details... and yes, it
- could have been made a lot cleaner by using the "LocDir" function
- of XIcon2, but I'm lazy...)

-
- ICON: Execute File: Used to run:
-
- RunStrobe.info RunStrobe Strobe
-
- UpsDn.info UpsDn UD
-
- ABlaster.info ABlaster AB ("AtariBlaster")
-
- Startle1.info Startle1 Startle
- (plus desired text-file)

- Since some of these icons have been shamelessly adapted from existing icons
- from various sources, the icons included in this file are released into the
- public domain by:
