  12. Permission for the non-commercial distribution of GhostPool by Dr. Gandalf
  13. is hereby granted. Non-commercial distribution is defined as distribution
  14. by user groups, individuals, bulletin boards, and not for profit, public
  15. service public domain disk distributors.
  16. Any manufacturer of hardware or software is specifically enjoined from the
  17. public distribution of any part of GhostPool by Dr. Gandalf, except
  18. if written arrangements are made with the author (not that I wouldn't be
  19. willing to make such arrangements).
  20. GhostPool by Dr. Gandalf is specifically NOT in the public domain.

  22. Now that we have finished with that silliness,

  24. 2. How it was made:
  25. -----------------------------------------------------------------------------
  26. The original images were generated using DBW-Render V2.0, DBWecker's
  27. ray-tracing program. There are 155 images total, which is over
  28. 6 megabytes of information in the uncompressed form. After compression and
  29. assembly with Byte-by-Byte's public domain sequencer, MOVIE, the finished
  30. animation file is 407120 bytes long, which will run easily in a 1 meg Amiga.
  31. The sounds were digitized with Perfect Sound fron SunRize.

  33. 3. How to view it:

  35. To play it from a CLI:
  36.    - Put GhostPool, GPOOL.AUD, the five .SND files, and a copy of
  37.          MOVIE (version 1.2 or higher) in the same directory or
  38.          on the same disk
  39.    - CD to that disk or directory
  40.    - Type
  41.         1> Movie GhostPool GPOOL.AUD
  42.  
  43. To play it from Workbench:
  44.    - Put GhostPool, GhostPool.info, GPOOL.AUD, the five .SND files, and
  45.          a copy of MOVIE (version 1.2 or higher) on the same disk
  46.    - Open the disk icon, and double-click the GhostPool icon.

  51. I hope you enjoy GhostPool. If you do, you can pay me back by
  52. coming up with some interesting animation and graphics of your own and
  53. distibuting them.
  54. Note that there is also a non-interlaced version of GhostPool available,
  55. which will run in a 512K Amiga.
