  4. V2.2 is the current version of Uedit.
  5.  
  6. Uedit V2.1 had the following main features:  It has fast, smooth scrolling,
  7. ability to map keys, ability to type/display ASCII characters in the range
  8. above ASCII 127 so it can do European characters like umlaut-u etc, skinny
  9. no-compile version (the shareware version), and other enhancements.  (NOTE: 
  10. To map keys, you'll need the version which will compile commands.)

  12. V2.2 has the following enhancement:  It works with Workbench icons, 
  13. optionally.  There's a menu selection for it.  The icons option also creates
  14. an icon for the backup file *BAK, if auto-backup is in use.  Clicking the
  15. icon will bring up UES which will load the file clicked.

  17. Other changes in V2.2 are that the mouse-click now substitutes for the ESC in
  18. Primitive Mode.  And the close-box command has been made friendlier so that
  19. it serves both to close and optionally save files as well as to quit
  20. optionally when the last file has been closed.

  22. The shareware version of Uedit will not compile commands.  To get the full
