  1.    X-Spell is a spelling checker that will proofread text files created with
  2. most popular word processors and text editors.  The dictionary file that
  3. comes with the Shareware version is only 1000 words, but a substantially larger
  4. one is available (see below).  Unlike most other spelling checkers, X-Spell
  5. proofreads the entire document and then allows you to move through the
  6. document, deciding what to do with the misspelled words.

  8. To proofread a document:
  9.  
  10.  - make sure that "X-Spell" and "dictionary" are both in your current C
  11.    directory.
  12.  - from the CLI type "X-Spell <filename>".
  13.  - X-Spell will load and beginning proofreading your document (a 10K text
  14.    file takes approximately 15 seconds).

  16. Once the document is proofread you can:
  17.  
  18.  - "Next word" will take you to (you guessed it) the next misspelled word.
  19.  - "Last word" will take you back one word in the document.
  20.  - "Replace All" will replace all occurances of the misspelled word with the
  21.    word that is in the string gadget.
  22.  - "Replace One" is like replace all, only it replaces a single occurance.
  23.  - "Add to dictionary" will add the word in the string gadget to the
  24.    dictionary and replace all occurances of the misspelled word.
  25.  - "Alternates" gets alternate spellings for the misspelled word.
  26.  - Clicking the select button in the body of the scrollbox highlights an
  27.    alternate spelling.
  28.  - "Replace with" replaces the misspelled word with the highlighted alternate.

  32.  - "CLI" opens a new CLI window.
  33.  - "Open" gets you the file input window.
  34.  - "Save" gets you the file output window for saving your files to disk.
