- This is documentation for using these BeepInit files.
- The file called BEEP.INIT is an init
- resource which causes the beep to become the sound stored in the file
- BeepSound. To use these files on a MacPlus or 512K enhanced or any other
- Mac with the 128K roms, merely move these two files into the system folder
- of the boot disk and they will be loaded automatically. To use these files
- on a non 128K ROM machine, install the BEEP.INIT file into the system file
- using the resource editor. The first of these methods takes advantage of
- the fact that the new ROMS allow INIT files with the proper creator and
- type to be run as if they were installed into the system file.
- The result of this hard work is that whenever a sysbeep occurs, a fun
- phrase from the Dire Straits song, 'Money for Nothin' is played instead.
- Enjoy.
