Molecular Editor is a memory hungry application, and operating it on a 128K Macintosh is limiting. For best results, run Molecular Editor on a 512K or greater Mac.
When running on a 128K Macintosh, here is some advise to keep memory problems to a minimum:
- work with only one or two molecules at a time.
- select only small portions of the molecule.
- if you have something selected, and it doesn╒t need to be selected, unselect it.
- printing may be difficult.
- if an operation fails, re-run the program and try to complete it as soon as possible.
- keep small parts of the molecule in the Clipboard.
- don╒t use desk accessories.
- scale the model so that it occupies only a small portion of the screen.
