  9. Kevin E. Knauss is an computer─communications systems officer in the US Air
  10. Force.  In this capacity, he has worked as a consultant on computer system
  11. upgrades for the Space Shuttle Program at Cape Canaveral AFS, FL, for the
  12. Military Personnel Center in San Antonio, TX, and for the Air Rescue Command
  13. Center near St Louis, MO.  He is currently assigned as the software engineer
  14. in charge of the computer─controlled ground communications network for Air
  15. Force One.

  17. Before entering the military, Kevin spent several years as a systems
  18. programmer which included C programming on UNIX.  After receiving his Master
  19. of Science Degree in Industrial Engineering from Lehigh University, he taught
  20. C programming as an Assistant Professor of Computer Science at a junior
  21. college in Pennsylvania.  His quest for finding a solution to the Traveling
  22. Salesman Problem began in 1978 at Lehigh University and continued through his
  23. PhD level courses taken recently at the University of Oklahoma.
