- PROGRAM:
- UNIQUE - Finds unique lines in a sorted file.
- USAGE:
- UNIQUE [<fid] [-U] [-C] [-L] [-S] [-D] [-N] [-H] [>fid]
- FUNCTION:
- This program finds and displays unique or duplicated lines in
- a sorted file. The default usage is to remove extra duplicated
- lines from a sorted list.
- Input and output are the standard redirectable input and
- output. Options include:

- -U Convert to upper case before comparing.
- -C First column to begin compare. 1 is default.
- It is ok to specify a position longer than some
- lines. Lines shorter will compare as equal.
- -L Length of field to compare. Full line length is default.
- -S Display only unique lines.
- -D Display only duplicated lines
- -N Prefix each line with the number of duplicates found.
- 1 for single lines, 2 for double lines, etc.
- -H Display the available options.

- SORT <A -C10 -L10 -R |UNIQUE -C10 -L10
- LS *.* |UNIQUE -D {Finds duplicate named files}
- WORDS <FILE |SORT |UNIQUE -N |SORT {Gives word list by frequency}
