- PROGRAM:
- SUM - Sums a given field in a set of lines.
- USAGE:
- SUM [<fid] [-Fn] [-Cn] [-H] [>fid]
- FUNCTION:
- This gets each line and sums the specified field.

- The -Fn option may specify the n'th numeric field
- in the line. The default is field 1.
-
- The -Cn may specify the first column to begin the search.
- The default is column 1.

- A numeric field is a string of one or more decimal digits
- which may pe preceded by a minus sign. Numeric fields are
- seperate# by any non-numeric character.
- Lines with no numbers or too short will be skipped.

- The -H option displays the available options.

- EXAMPLE:
- SUM <NUMBERS -C8 -F2 {Sums the second numeric field
- following column 8.}
