  23. This implementation of DOS is the smallest available.  It runs directly
  24. out of ROM and occupies less than 32KB, leaving enough room in the same
  25. 64KB ROM or Flash block for a respectibly-large 32KB BIOS.  The 32KB
  26. barrier has been broken, and Embedded DOS-ROM will save you money by
  27. saving space.

  29. Embedded DOS-ROM 6.22 also consumes very little RAM.  It needs
  30. some RAM (8-10KB) for its own workspace, which it uses when your
  31. applications open files and allocate other resources.  This space
  32. is kept to a minimum in the standard distribution release of
  33. Embedded DOS-ROM 6.22, and is expandable in the source-level
  34. configuration options for those customers who need hundreds of
  35. open files.

  51. DOS-ROM 6.22 are ready to drop-in and use in your system in place
  52. of an existing ROM-able DOS.

  55. to find your MS-DOS-compatible ROM disk image, even in extended memory.
  56. When found, the built-in ROM disk automatically makes it available
  57. as a drive, and will process your CONFIG.SYS and AUTOEXEC.BAT files
  58. on the disk.

  60. Embedded DOS-ROM 6.22 also automatically detects chipsets such as
  61. the RadiSys R380 and AMD Elan Am386SC300 CPU, and when found, programs
  62. them to give extra memory to DOS and application programs, WITHOUT
  63. THE NEED TO LOAD AN EXTRA MEMORY MANAGER.

  69. one file called OPTIONS.INC, you can command Embedded DOS-ROM's build
  70. process to selectively enable or disable individual CONFIG.SYS and
  71. COMMAND.COM commands, enable the tiny internal COMMAND.COM interpreter,
  72. and configure the scratch RAM footprint.
