- Welcome to the smxFile Demo
-
-
- This demo shows smxFile in action. The demo is self-explanatory. Look
- to the upper-left corner for status messages that change as the demo runs.
- Here are a couple things to note before running the demo:
-
- 1. Leave the Demo Disk in drive A: or put another HIGH DENSITY
- floppy disk in drive A:. The write test writes to this floppy.
-
- 2. Before resuming the floppy read test ("Resume A Scan") from
- the menu (F2), resume the write test ("Resume Write Test").
- Otherwise, none of the files the demo puts on the disk will
- exist and it will appear as if the floppy scan is not doing
- anything.
-
- 3. Before doing either of the things in step 2, wait a few seconds
- until the sliding status bar appears in the "SEQ_READS" panel.
- Otherwise, the cursor keys will not work and you will be unable
- to make a menu selection.
-
-
- Note that there are two options for running the demo:
-
- 1. With BIOS drivers.
- 2. With our IDE and Floppy drivers.
-
- rundemos allows you to select which of the above two options to use.
- AFTER YOU ARE DONE RUNNING THE FILE MANAGER DEMO WITH OUR DRIVERS
- (option 2), REBOOT AGAIN. This is necessary because our drivers bypass
- the BIOS. When the demo completes, the BIOS takes over, but it gets
- confused about what has happened in the interim.
-
- If you wish to view the demo files now, you can exit to DOS (Ctrl-X).
- Otherwise, FILEdemo will run shortly after you are done viewing this file.
-
- Now that the demo files have been installed, you can run FILEdemo directly
- from your hard disk, if you wish, without going through rundemos again.
- Just type "fdemol" for option 1 above, or "fdemol d" for option 2.
