  1. MODEMSTA: Modem status iconic indicator for Windows using 3D animated icon.

  3. If You have an internal modem, an external modem out-of-sight of Your computer 
  4. or a PCMCIA modem, this is the program for You!
  5.   
  6. ModemSta, the MODEM STATUS ICONIC INDICATOR, will help You operating Your modem 
  7. by showing a small animated icon replica or indicator display window (several 
  8. formats available) of a typical modem's front panel.
  9.  
  10. A number of handy functions has also been added such as modem initialization, 
  11. logging of incoming calls and connections, additional status info, summary of 
  12. all communications settings in DOS and Windows, generation of sound in parallel 
  13. to or instead of the telephone's ring signal and at line connection events. 
  14. The status and activity of the parallel ports in Your system can also be 
  15. monitored.

  18. New in version 1.8 is a SPY function, which makes it possible to detect the 
  19. CONNECT STRING (to show actual data connection speed, error and compression 
  20. protocols), calculate the actual TD/RD speed, the total number of transmitted
  21. bytes and log dialed telephone numbers to the connect log (in Win95, this works 
  22. for 16 bit communication programs only). ModemSta has also been updated for Win95.

  25. INSTALLATION:
  26.  
  27. ModemSta files are installed using the Windows-hosted installation program.
  28. ModemSta requires Windows 3.1 or higher.
  29.  
  30. If you received ModemSta as an archived (.ZIP) file, unarchive it into a
  31. temporary directory. From Windows, run SETUP.EXE to perform the installation.
  32.  
  33. If you received ModemSta on a diskette, simply run SETUP.EXE located on
  34. the diskette from within Windows.
  35.  
  36. SETUP.EXE will copy ModemSta's files to a directory of Your choice. No 
  37. changes are made to win.ini, system.ini, autoexec.bat etc.

  39. SETUP.EXE will also copy CTL3D.DLL to the Windows system directory 
  40. (e.g. C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM), but will not overwrite a newer version.

  42. A Program Manager Group will also be created if You select so.

  44. You can also manually install the files by copying them to a directory and 
  45. create icons in the Program Manager. Also copy CTL3D.DLL to the Windows system 
  46. directory, but do not overwrite a newer version if one is already installed.

  52. Uninstall: Delete the ModemSta files in the directory You installed them and 
  53. delete MODEMSTA.INI in the Windows directory.

  94. regsite in Australia.
