Transcription: The collective body of ideas about the natural world arrived at through observing, thinking, experimenting and validating is what is known as science. Early scientists were primarily observers of natural happenings. Galileo was a pioneer of modern science who set up experiments and was an active participant. The technology of modern science changes rapidly, but today's methods of observation, description, and analysis are very much based on those devised by Galileo in the 1500s.
