- Winsock Finger Client Version 1.1
-
- by
-
- Tidewater Systems
-
-
- WsFinger v1.1 was developed using Borland C++ & OWL over Peter
- Tattum's Trumpet Winsock implementation. WsFinger is a freeware
- client. Feel free to use and distribute this archive in its
- complete form.
-
-
- Files:
-
- wsfinger.doc : This file
- wsfinger.exe : Winsock Finger Client
- bwcc.dll : Borland's Custom Controll DLL
-
- Revisions:
-
- v1.1 :
-
- Fixed a bug that would cause GPF's in version 1.0
- Finger numeric address and GPF.
-
- Vertical and Horizontal scroll bars are completly
- functional.
-
- Resizing the Client is now functional.
-
- Use <return> key to start finger.
-
- Window caption is updated at completion of finger,
- when minimized, you can now tell it has completed.
-
- v1.0 :
-
- First public release.
-
-
- Installation:
-
- Copy BWCC.DLL to either your \windows\system directory or
- a directory in your search path. Install wsfinger.exe
- in a directory of your choice.
-
- Usage:
-
- Wsfinger is easy to use. Once loaded just enter a
- [user]@<host> and click on Finger or press the <return>
- key.
-
- [user] is optional
-
- @ is required
-
- <host> can be either in host form ie foo.bar.edu or dotted
- decimal.
-
- In addition, under options, verbose mode may be set.
- When using verbose mode, be aware that by executing a
- null user finger, you may be overwhelmed by information
- from the finger host, and you will place an unusually high
- load on the host.
