  38. 12.1.  INTRODUCTORY INTERNET INFORMATION.  To receive introductory 
  39. information on the Internet, send a message to service@nic.ddn.mil the 
  40. subject line "RFC1325" (without the quotations).  You will receive the 
  41. Request For Comments (RFC) "Questions and Answers for New Internet 
  42. Users."  (This service is documented in Section 3.16 of The Internet 
  43. Resource Guide (see Section 2.2 of this document)).

  45. 12.2.  INTRODUCTORY UUCP INFORMATION.  The book "Using UUCP and 
  46. USENET" by Grace Todino and Dale Dougherty is an excellent 
  47. introduction to UUCP and USENET.  See Section 13.1 for ordering 
  48. information.
  49.  
  50. 12.3.  INTERNET, UUCP, AND USENET PROVIDERS.  There is not a 
  51. bright line separating "domain providers" and "account providers."  In 
  52. general, "domain providers" have close ties to the Internet, and 
  53. "account providers" do not.  "Domain providers" sell Internet links to 
  54. organizations, "account providers" sell e-mail accounts to 
  55. individuals.  However, the services offered by each are constantly 
  56. changing.  The following are the major commercial Internet, UUCP, and 
  57. USENET providers.

  2347. In an effort to bring valuable information to the masses, and
  2348. as a service to motivated information compilers, I 
  2349. (L. Detweiler) will help others unfamiliar with Usenet 
  2350. `publish' their documents for widespread dissemination via the 
  2351. FAQ structure, and act as a `sponsor' knowledgable in the 
  2352. submissions process. This document is being distributed under
  2353. this arrangement.

  2355. I have found these compilations tend to appear on various 
  2356. mailing lists and are valuable enough to deserve wider 
  2357. distribution. If you know of an existing compilation of 
  2358. Internet information that is not currently a FAQ, please 
  2359. contact me and I may `sponsor' it. The benefits to the author
