The Renegade Development Utilities Software Package consists of five separate programs, LaunchIt, PathClipper, ModifyReadOnly, OrphanFiles, and SerialCloser. Each program is targeted at a specific task. The first four are Drag and Drop grinders, and the fifth is a small utility application with a very simple self explanatory user interface. All components have been tested on both PowerMac and 68K Macintosh systems with various releases of System 7.X. For more information on a particular utility, please see the information below.

LaunchIt
LaunchIt is a drag and drop grinder that handles either files or folders. It attempts to launch any file as an application. Folders are recursively searched and all files contained within the folder or subfolders are launched as applications. Holding the option key down launches a file with shared access privileges. This utility is very useful for developing embedded applications.
PathClipper
PathClipper is a drag and drop grinder that handles either files or folders. It copies the full text path to the file/folder onto the clipboard. Since only one path is retained on the Clipboard at a time do not drop multiple items on PathClipper at once. Only the path to the last item is placed onto the clipboard. This utility is invaluable when working in the MPW command line interface.
ModifyReadOnly
ModifyReadOnly is a drag and drop grinder that handles either files or folders. It changes the status of read only Projector controlled files to modified read only. Folders are recursively searched and all read only files contained within the folder or subfolders are changed to modified read only.
OrphanFiles
OrphanFiles is a drag and drop grinder that handles either files or folders. It removes the Projector control resource from files currently under projector control. Folders are recursively searched Projector control resources are removed from all files within the folder or subfolders.
SerialCloser
SerialCloser is a small utility for closing serial ports left open by other applications. It will attempt to reset the serial port clocking and communications parameters and then close the drivers associated with the selected serial port. In addition to the standard serial ports, SerialCloser recognizes any serial port/serial extender that is registered with the Communications Toolbox.
