Termite can work with any Internet service provider (<dfn>ISP</dfn>) that provides you with a direct SLIP or PPP connection. All that Termite needs to be compatible with any particular provider is a script for that provider, in Termite's script language.

(We are happy to create the necessary script for you, given details of the provider.)

Termite comes with ready-made scripts for the following providers, so use with them is simplicity itself: just choose the name of the provider, and their most local phone number.

Choosing your Internet Provider

Primarily your choice of provider will be one that is local to you. There are normally no technical reasons why you should choose one instead of the other, it is all down to how much they charge you per month (between 10 and 15 pounds) and the customer service they provide.

Talk to friends or colleagues to see what provider they use, it is always a good idea to use one that has a good reputation. The biggest providers are not always the best providers.

The majority of the providers above will provide you with information on request, just dial the number beside their name and I'm sure they will help you.

The major Internet magazines have lists at the back of them listing all the Internet providers available and how much they charge. There is often a list of major towns and cities with a list of providers that they are a local call from.
