  12.  PURPOSE
  13.  ---------------------------------------------------------------------------
  14.  TextInfo is a program to give information on text files. It will count the
  15.  number of characters, words, sentences and lines in a file and display the
  16.  results in a window. The processes used for doing this are (at the moment)
  17.  limited, and the results may not be 100% accurate.

  20.  USING THE PROGRAM
  21.  ---------------------------------------------------------------------------
  22.  To examine a text file drag it to the TextInfo icon on the icon bar. A
  23.  window will open showing the size of the file and the estimated time that
  24.  the counting will take. The hourglass will appear and the file will be
  25.  analysed. When this process is complete a window will open showing the
  26.  details. If the window is already open (from a previous count) then it will
  27.  be updated and brought to the front. Please note that the estimated time
  28.  is for a file on hard disc with ARM250. It may be slightly wrong for a
  29.  floppy disc or other versions of the ARM chip, and this may be corrected in
  30.  future versions.

  32.  Pressing Escape during counting will abort the process and display the
  33.  results so far, including an indication of how far the operation had
  34.  progressed when Escape was pressed. Counting cannot then be continued. This
  35.  could be used to make an estimate of the results for the whole file.

  37.  Any file can be counted, although the program is specifically designed
  38.  for text files. A warning is given if the file is not typed as text (&FFF)
  39.  but it can still be counted.

  42.  OPTIONS
  43.  ---------------------------------------------------------------------------
  44.  TextInfo currently supports three options. The options window is accessed
  45.  by clicking on the icon bar. The options are:
  46.  
  47.      1)  Include CR/LF in character count: Selecting this will cause all
  48.          &0A and &0D codes to be treated as characters. As they are not
  49.          'true' characters (i.e. they are not printable) this option is
  50.          off by default.
  51.      
  52.      2)  Percentage hourglass: This will show the progress while the
  53.          file is being counted. This option is off by default as it
  54.          roughly doubles the time taken to examine a file!
  55.      
  56.      3)  Beep when finished: If this is selected then the bell will be
  57.          sounded when a count has finished.
