  7. If you've kept your all of dvips' files as they came within
  8. !dvips then it should be a simple matter of running amu with
  9. a target of "all" to make the binaries and compressed header
  10. files.  Running amu with a target of "install" should do the
  11. above and also place all of the newly made files in their
  12. correct places, with appropriate access and type.  But just
  13. make sure that !dvips has been seen, i.e. !dvips.!Boot has
  14. been run at some point in the past.

  16. If however your distribution is spayed across your hard disc
  17. you'll probably have to make changes to the Makefile in the
  18. places indicated.  (And may be else where.)

  20. NOTE:

  22. If you do not have the DDEUtils module you will need to
  23. change the definitions of INSTALL and SQUEEZE in the make
  24. file to use the CSD symbol (@), rather than <Prefix$Dir>,
  25. and ensure that your CSD is !dvips.Source.

  27. If it just won't work, even with your best endeavours, then
  28. contact me (address below) with a detailed and accurate
  29. description of the problem and I'll try to solve it. 
  30. There's nothing worse than a Makefile that just doesn't
  31. make.
