- How to use !MicroTnc
- ====================
-
- Welcome to the world's smallest multi-tasking packet program, now with file
- transmit.
-
- (Please note. Tongue well in cheek.)
-
- First you need to edit the file !MicroTnc.!Run as shown in the file to the
- baud rates you require. To do this hold down <Shift> key and double click
- on the !MicroTnc icon in the directory window THEN AND ONLY THEN release the
- <Shift> key. Drag the !Run file into !Edit.
-
- All the facilities of !Edit are now available including editing, printing of
- the text etc. even to the extent of using any font available !
-
- File transmit
- -------------
- DO NOT CLOSE THE WINDOW "devices:$" if you wish to transmit a file.
-
- FILES TO BE TRANSMITTED MUST BE NAMED "SERIAL" !
-
- Any file to be transmitted MUST consist of lines EACH ending in a carriage
- return.
-
- This is easy to achieve using !Edit, simply type each line ending it by
- pressing the <Return> key, when you are finished select " Edit" from !Edits
- menu then click on "CR<->LF" from the sub-menu or press <Ctrl>f8 (i.e. press
- both a <Ctrl> key and function key 8 at the same time).
-
- The file may then be 'saved' by dragging it to the "devices:$" window but
- **************** REMEMBER TO RENAME IT "SERIAL" FIRST. ****************
- In fact any file to be transmitted by this method MUST first be renamed
- "SERIAL" and include carriage returns as described.
-
- Ending the program. A tidy way to end the program is to press the <Escape>
- key which also closes the "devices:$" window.
-
- Try doing this on a P.C.
-
- Finally thanks to Ben G0SOQ and James G3RUH for a couple of hints and tips.
