-
- INTRODUCTION...
-
- Schematic is my collection of electronic symbols complete with an easy to
- use front end. There is around 72 symbols, and most of them have horizontal
- and vertical versions.
-
- USING...
-
- Double-click on the icon in a filer window.
- Click on the icon on the iconbar to bring up the main window.
- Load in !Draw and open a window.
- Expand the Schematic window and select the area you want.
- Click on the required symbol from the list on the right.
- Drag the icon from the save box into the !Draw window.
-
- Eg. say you wanted to put a ground symbol into your diagram. Click on Misc
- to bring up the list of miscellaneous symbols. If the list is large then it
- might go onto the next page. To move between the pages click on the up and
- down icons at the bottom of the list. When you have found 'Ground' in the
- list, simply click on it and drag the icon from the save box into your
- diagram.
-
- CONVENTIONS...
-
- As the limit for the length of a name in the list is 10 characters, I have
- used quite a few abbreivations. They should all be easy to understand.
-
- At the end of most of the names will be a 'v' or a 'h', corresponding to
- vertical or horizontal. I could have just included one copy of a symbol and
- left it to you to rotate by 90° or 270°, but when you do this some of the
- lines move out of place slightly, and this can show up when the diagram is
- printed.
- I haven't included four copies of each symbol, because once you have the
- horizontal or vertical copy, you can mirror it by dragging the control point
- at the bottom right of the selection box.
-
- In the ICs section is 'Amp(top+)' and 'Amp(top-)'. They are the triangle
- symbols for an amplifier. 'top+' means that of the two input terminals, the
- top one is the non-inverting one.
-
- In the Logic section, '2NORv' means a vertical 2-input NOR gate.
-

- ADDING COMPONENTS...
-
- Adding components is very simple. First make sure the grid is set up the
- same as the other symbols (inches: 1x16). Draw your symbol. Open up the
- !Schematics directory. Open the Components directory, then save the drawfile
- in the relevent directory. When you next load in Schematics, it will
- automatically be added to the lists.
- Note: when you save the symbol, make sure that the zoom factor is 1:1,
- otherwise when you drag the symbol into your diagram, the zoom factor will
- be changed to what it was when the symbol was saved.
-
- There are some symbols missing, like the transistor with two emitters, and
- the darlington pair in one transistor. This is because I can't remember what
- they are called. If anyone can tell me I will be grateful.
