-
-
-
-
- Users updating from 1.03 to 1.04 and above.
-
-
-
- THIS IS O N L Y FOR 1.00 - 1.03 USERS!
-
-
-
- There is always a certain trade-off between individual and system
- safety. After some discussion it has been deceided to change the
- balance a wee bit into the direction of the individual user. This
- means that in version 1.04 onwards a different password sentence
- coding system has been implemented.
-
- However before upgrading you need to 'descramble' your password.
-
- Please follow these instructions closely
-
- 1 Make a backup of !Signature 1.03 and the 'private' file.
-
- 2 Start !Signature 1.03 and enter your password. Press Oké
-
- 3 Reopen the password window and change your password into
- 'able', just that single word ! the first one in the
- token list. Press the 'change' button.
-
- 4 Copy the 'private' file, found inside the !signature
- application to somewere safe. It should have a new,
- recent time/date stamp.
-
- 5 Replace !Signature 1.03 with the new version.
-
- 6 Copy the 'private' file into the directory of !signature.
-
- 7 Start the new version of !Signature.
-
- 8 If everything went ok you should be prompted to enter
- a fresh password.
-
- 9 DESTROY ANY OF THE OTHER COPIES OF THE PRIVATE FILE
-
- The ONLY safe way of destroying them is by loading them
- into !Edit, preform a search en replace with the
- wildcarded expression # into X. This will change all the
- numbers into X chars. Save this file. Then delete the file.
-
- This is to ensure that no 'hidden' copies of the private
- file remain on your (hard!)disc.
-
- And that is it.
-
- Dirk.
