  5. Overview
  6. ========

  8. RTF to HTML converts RTF Version 1.4 files into HTML documents suitable for viewing
  9. by any application which can display HTML files. The document text and certain
  10. formatting information is translated from RTF into HTML.
  11.  
  12. Using RTF to HTML
  13. =================
  14.  
  15. To launch RTF to HTML, just double-click on the !RTFtoHTML icon which will then
  16. appear on the right hand side of the icon bar.
  17.  
  18. To convert an RTF file, simply drag the file onto the icon bar !RTFtoHTML icon. The program 
  19. executes automatically and displays a file save dialog for dragging into a directory window. 
  20. The new file contains the HTML version of the RTF file. A log window is opened when the 
  21. application executes which is used to show any information or error messages.

  30.         Log    -> displays the log window
  31.         Quit   -> quits the RTFtoHTML application

  34. Limitations
  35. ===========

  37. RTFtoHTML has not been tested under RISC OS 2 or on a StrongARM processor.

  39. The RTF text styling which is carried over to the HTML output is:-
  40.  
  41.         a. paragraph alignment;
  42.  
  43.         b. bold;
  44.  
  45.         c. italic;
  46.  
  47.         d. underlining;
  48.  
  49.         e. superscripts;
  50.  
  51.         f. subscripts;
  52.  
  53.         g. strikeout.
  54.  
  55. Future versions of RTFtoHTML will include the mapping of RTF document styles onto HTML
  56. document styles, such as headings and lists.
  57.  
  58. The HTML produced by this application has been tested with Arcweb v1.65 and Bookworm v1.00.
  59. If using Bookworm v1.00 it should be noted that it does not support all of the features listed
  60. above.

  62. An unregistered version provides all functionality but expires at midnight on 30 June 1997.

  66. Registration
  67. ============

  69. RTFtoHTML uses a registration system which uses a key to enable the 
  70. functionality to be used beyond the expiry date. Without the key the
  71. application will not operate beyond the expiry date.
  72.  
  73. If you wish to register then send your name and address, along with a cheque for £10 
  74. (£30 for commercial users) sterling to the address below.
  75.  
  76. In return we will send you a key. The key belongs to you and will ensure that you will 
  77. be able to fully use any future versions of RTFtoHTML.

  79. As a registered user you may have any number of copies as your name
  80. will appear in the program information dialog. You can also send us
  81. a disc with your key for the latest version, which we will return to you.
