  12. Purpose : On Risc OS 3.1 machines,
  13. selecting modes not immediately
  14. available from the !palette utility
  15. can be a bit of a drag. To aid you
  16. I have generously updated my archaic
  17. KwikMode utility to handle most of the
  18. commonly used modes. It can handle the 
  19. following modes :
  20.  
  21. Low Res (for development work. I don't
  22. recommend using this program on standard
  23. tv's as all the icons are high res.)
  24. Mode 0  : 2   col 620 x 256  (v.fast)
  25. Mode 13 : 256 col 320 x 256
  26. Mode 12 : 16  col 640 x 256
  27. Mode 15 : 256 col 640 x 256
  28. Mode 16 : 16  col 1056x 256 (widescreen)

  30. High Res 
  31.  
  32. Mode 44 : 2   col 640 x 200 (v.fast)
  33. Mode 20 : 16  col 640 x 512
  34. Mode 21 : 256 col 640 x 512
  35. Mode 27 : 16  col VGA
  36. Mode 28 : 256 col VGA
  37. Mode 31 : 16  col SVGA
  38. Mode 32 : 256 col SVGA (UniMode/Enhancer only)

  42. Many applications, including various programs and
  43. hardware from CC and the PD utility !UniMode allow
  44. the user access to new resolutions. If you resize the
  45. QuickMode window, you can access two new icons, 99
  46. and 100. Assign your favourite modes to these numbers
  47. and you can access them quickly too.

  49.    Mode 32 : Most people can't use this mode as 
  50. Risc OS doesn't support it. However the !SuperSync
  51. utility contained within this application's directory
  52. loads in a new UniMode module to handle it for
  53. RO 3.1 Multisync owners with VIDC enhancers. It also
  54. redefines Mode 21 to be less rubbish, and loads
  55. new modes at 23, 99 and 100. Mode 100 and Mode 32 are
  56. very high resolution indeed (for pre-RiscPC users
  57. anyway) and so take a long time to update. At least
  58. you can use them now for picture viewing, but be
  59. warned, they both use virtually 480k and Arm 2/250's
  60. will slow down enormously.
