- Quick Mode version 2.20
-
- Requires : Risc OS 3.1
- Desirable : Multisync
-
- -------------------------------------
-
- Author : The Raj. (Robin Jubber)
-
- Purpose : On Risc OS 3.1 machines,
- selecting modes not immediately
- available from the !palette utility
- can be a bit of a drag. To aid you
- I have generously updated my archaic
- KwikMode utility to handle most of the
- commonly used modes. It can handle the
- following modes :
-
- Low Res (for development work. I don't
- recommend using this program on standard
- tv's as all the icons are high res.)
- Mode 0 : 2 col 620 x 256 (v.fast)
- Mode 13 : 256 col 320 x 256
- Mode 12 : 16 col 640 x 256
- Mode 15 : 256 col 640 x 256
- Mode 16 : 16 col 1056x 256 (widescreen)
-
- High Res
-
- Mode 44 : 2 col 640 x 200 (v.fast)
- Mode 20 : 16 col 640 x 512
- Mode 21 : 256 col 640 x 512
- Mode 27 : 16 col VGA
- Mode 28 : 256 col VGA
- Mode 31 : 16 col SVGA
- Mode 32 : 256 col SVGA (UniMode/Enhancer only)
- Mode 39 : 16 col 896 x 352
- Mode 40 : 256 col 896 x 352
-
- Many applications, including various programs and
- hardware from CC and the PD utility !UniMode allow
- the user access to new resolutions. If you resize the
- QuickMode window, you can access two new icons, 99
- and 100. Assign your favourite modes to these numbers
- and you can access them quickly too.
-
- Mode 32 : Most people can't use this mode as
- Risc OS doesn't support it. However the !SuperSync
- utility contained within this application's directory
- loads in a new UniMode module to handle it for
- RO 3.1 Multisync owners with VIDC enhancers. It also
- redefines Mode 21 to be less rubbish, and loads
- new modes at 23, 99 and 100. Mode 100 and Mode 32 are
- very high resolution indeed (for pre-RiscPC users
- anyway) and so take a long time to update. At least
- you can use them now for picture viewing, but be
- warned, they both use virtually 480k and Arm 2/250's
- will slow down enormously.
