  6. MenuBar requires RISC OS 3.1 or above.  It is StrongARM compatible.

  9.  Getting started
  10.  ---------------

  12. Copy the !MenuBar application from the supplied floppy disc to any
  13. directory on your hard disc, and run the program by double-clicking
  14. on the !MenuBar icon.  When you run MenuBar the initial Bar appears
  15. at the top of the screen with a button on the left and five (empty)
  16. Menus.  The button in effect replaces the usual icon bar icon.

  19.  Upgrading from MenuBar 1

  22. Users of MenuBar 1 can transfer their existing data to MenuBar 2 by
  23. simply dropping their existing application '!MenuBar' onto the
  24. button.

  30. Full information is given in the Help file, a copy of which is in
  31. the directory 'Manual'.  This file is constructed to be easily
  32. printed, if required.  A reminder of keyboard and mouse shortcuts is
  33. accessible from the button menu.

  36.  The 'Register' file
  37.  -------------------
  38.  
  39. The 'Library' directory contains a special 'Register' file,
  40. encrypted with your name.  The Library directory is your personal
  41. property, and when in future you obtain upgrades from the PD
  42. Library, you simply copy your Library directory to the new version.

  44. You are encouraged to pass on unregistered copies of the program,
  45. and to do this you simply copy the MenuBar to a floppy disc and then
  46. delete the entire Library directory.  This ensures that your
  47. personal property is safeguarded, and that the version you pass on
  48. behaves as an unregistered demo version.

  54. If you experimented by creating data with the demo version, and
  55. if you wish to retain this data, you will need to run each data file
  56. through !Convert first (see Section 13 in the Help file).
