- MakeTeam: An application to create cricket teams for CSB.
-
- Please see Readme file for license conditions.
-
- Once the MakeTeam icon is on the iconbar, click on it to open its main
- window. A cricket team consists of eleven players (duh!) and the name of the
- team. Each player has approximately 25 statistics associated with them as
- well as a name. MakeTeam is used to edit these things.
-
- The list of players occupies most of the main window - the large recessed
- icon is probably empty, because you haven't entered any player names. The
- number of the player you're editing is displayed below the large icon; this
- can be changed using the bumper icons to its right. Alternatively, click in
- the team-list icon to edit the player in that position. Enter the player's
- name in the writable icon below and press return to enter them into the team.
-
- To edit the player's statistics, click either the 'Batting' or 'Bowling'
- icon below the writable. Don't be alarmed by any of this: the only essential
- pieces of information are the players names - you fill in as much or as
- little of the statistics as you like. Again, if you don't know something like
- the number of wides bowled, don't worry - leave it as 0 or just a blank.
-
- The three icons just below the writable can be used to insert special
- characters into the player's name. The asterisk (yeah, so you can probably
- type a '*' without too much hassle, but let's keep things together, ok?) and
- cross devices are traditionally used to denote the captain & wicket- keeper
- respectively. The 'Hard Space' will add a hard space (oho!) to the end of the
- text in the writable (note that this is not necessarily where the caret is;
- sorry). Use this to separate the player's name from his initials if more than
- one player in the team has the same surname - see 'Warwicks' - so CSB knows
- to include the initials on scoreboards & printouts.
-
- To set the name of the team, open the main menu and follow the 'Name'
- entry: type the team name here.
- If you want to wipe the team information and start from fresh, select
- 'Wipe' from the main menu.
- You can save off an individual player from the menu icon in the main
- window, or save the entire team via the main menu. You need two (different!)
- team files like these to use CSB.
-
- To edit an already created team, you can either double-click it or drag it
- on to a MakeTeam window. To add a previously created and saved player to your
- team, drag the player file to where you want their name to appear in the main
- window.
- If MakeTeam complains about version numbers, see !Update.
-
- Note that the position of players in the MakeTeam window bears no
- reflection on their batting order - this is determined by CSB.
