-
- !Submit is copyright © Philip Colmer, 1991. It may be freely copied provided
- that you do not charge anything for its distribution.
-
- Compress and Tar are by Frank Lancaster.
-
- !Submit allows you to post any number of files or directories as uuencoded
- tar files. The tar files are created in a UNIX compatible format so that
- they can be decoded on non-RISC OS machines.
-
- To use !Submit, simply drag the files or directories to be posted onto the
- !Submit window. If you change your mind about the things to be posted,
- simply MENU on the objects and choose the "Remove" option.
-
- By default, only the leaf name of the objects will be kept in the tar file.
- This is shown in black, with the un-kept part of the filename shown in blue.
- If you want to change this, hold down SHIFT and then right or left click on
- the name to change the break point in the pathname. Note that !Submit will
- NOT allow you to include the filing system or device name.
-
- When submitting software, you will need to also provide your name and the
- name of the archive you are submitting. If what you are providing is a
- patch, you should also provide the patch information. The posting number
- information is supplied by the moderator, although you can use it yourself
- for keeping track of material you have submitted.
-
- When you are happy with your choice, click on the "Submit" button. After a
- while, a filer window will open containing one or more files ready for
- posting.
-
- If you want to add some introductory text, the best place to put it is at
- the beginning of the first file.
-
- Any comments or bug reports to Philip Colmer (pcolmer@acorn.co.uk), please.
-
- Bugs fixed
- ----------
-
- 1.12: If you increased the volume number, it didn't actually get used :-)
-
- 1.11: Fil got it wrong (as per usual)
-
- 1.10: Major re-release to make it even better for use with
- comp.binaries.acorn
-
- 1.01: Submitting sub-sub-directories caused their filetypes to be ignored.
- Submitting something greater than 90K caused the splitting to go wrong.
- Adding things to the window now causes the window to grow downwards.
- The user now has control over how much of the filename appears in the
- tar file. To change this, hold down SHIFT and click SELECT/ADJUST
- over the filename. This will also work on selections.
- The tools can be placed in any directory now, so long as the !Run file
- points to the correct directory.
