  4. !NetUtils is a patch utility to load the NetUtils, FilerUtil and BorderUtil
  5. modules. 
  6.  
  7. The NetUtils module is only required for machines using a Level 4 network
  8. (Econet or Ethernet) network with NetFS 5.78 (as supplied in the RISC OS 3
  9. Version 3.10 and 3.11 ROM). The NetUtils module ensures the correct
  10. behaviour of NetFS on extending files by 128K or more. Failure to use the
  11. NetUtils module may result in the loss or corruption of data. Note that it 
  12. *is* still required with RISC OS 3.11 machines.

  14. This application also loads the FilerUtil patch for machines that are
  15. running an Acorn Access network or using the Application Accelerator. The
  16. patch prevents the error box "Illegal Window Handle" appearing if a filer
  17. dialogue box is open at the instant a Share or Unshare if made elsewhere on
  18. the network. It also loads the BorderUtil module that may prevent problems
  19. associated with 3D Templates; characterised by occasional machine lock ups.

  21. You should ensure that a directory containing !NetUtils has been seen before
  22. making significant use of the network (Level4 or Access). The easiest
  23. way to do this is to place !NetUtils where it will be 'seen' by any machine
  24. that uses the network, or ensure that it is run or Filer_Booted during
  25. client station start-up.

  27. The NetUtils module is not required if you only use !NFSFiler.
