  21. As you all know, the Energis vPoPs have V.terbo modems connected to them. 
  22. These are US Robotics V.terbo, driven at 38400bps.  The normal V.terbo 
  23. speed is 19200bps, but USR have their own proprietry extension which 
  24. takes this to 21600bps.

  26. This mini-FAQ lists most of the current high-performance modems and the
  27. expected connect speeds.  It is not a definitive list, and not necessarily
  28. entirely accurate.  However, based on the information I have, I believe it
  29. is correct.  Let me know if something is wrong.

  68. Very early US Robotics Sportsters *did* support V.terbo, but this was
  69. quickly removed.

  71. V.terbo was never an official ITU-T standard and implementations may
  72. vary between manufacturers.  There is no guarantee of compatability.

  74. V.34 includes 21600 and 19200bps as fallback speeds.  However, the
  75. negotiation phase is completely different, and it will not train to
  76. V.terbo unless the modem specifically supports V.terbo.
