-
- 1{HBombs}{JCDFS::PDCD_5.$.Games.Bombs}
- 4This is an isometric-3D puzzle game featuring a lot of explosions.
- 4The object of the game is to blow up all the bombs on a level. The
- 4problem is that you are very much prone to explode yourself. So you
- 4have to solve each level by finding out the correct sequence in
- 4which to explode the bombs that will allow you to live and proceed
- 4to the next level. EXCELLENT!!
- 4Steven Kramer. v1.00.
-
- 1{HBombz}{JCDFS::PDCD_5.$.Games.Bombz}
- 4This is in my opinion one of the best PD games to come my way in
- 4a long time. The graphics are superb; the game play is smooth and
- 4the puzzles are easy enough to complete yet hard enough to make
- 4you think!! Your task is quite simple. Get rid of all the bombs on
- 4each level then escape off the edge of the screen. To blow up a
- 4bomb, push it to where you want to cause an explosion, then collect
- 4a detonator and touch the bomb again and quickly get out of the way.
- 4This version contains 42 levels plus a level designer.
- 4Tony Houghton.
-
- 1{HChain}{JCDFS::PDCD_5.$.Games.Chain}
- 4This is a brilliant game. It’s played on an 8x8 grid with up
- 4to four players. Each square can carry a set number of people
- 4before it reaches its critical mass. It then explodes and the
- 4chain reaction starts. The idea is to be the only player left.
- 4You will have lots of fun with this one. It’s also very nicely
- 4presented.
- 4Steve Bosman.
-
- 1{HCheckers}{JCDFS::PDCD_5.$.Games.Checkers}

- 4The object of the game is to guide your character through many
- 4levels to collect all the apples. Once all the apples on one level
- 4have been eaten, you will be allowed to progress to the next level.
- 4Unfortunately, all is not as easy as it sounds. On each level there
- 4are monsters which are dead set against you achieving this goal.
- 4Carl Shaw.
-
- 1{HDinoSaw}{JCDFS::PDCD_5.$.Games.DinoSaw}
- 4Yet another fantastic PD game from the games master Tom Cooper.
- 4A simple everyday story of a caveman and his chain saw! It’s a
- 4prehistoric platformer... either jump over nasty things or hack
- 4‘em to death with yer chainsaw. You can tell when yer hurting
- 4something cos it bleeds! Nice huh? (Tom’s description). The

-

- 4Andrea Gallo.
-
- 1{HGunShip}{JCDFS::PDCD_5.$.Games.GunShip}
- 4You and a friend must bravely fly your spaceship out into the
- 4unknown and destroy loads of hapless aliens. The fun comes when you
- 4and your friend argue about the reason you missed shooting the last
- 4alien. Banking at the wrong moment, bog-eyed shooting, and crashing
- 4into scenery and bullets are all very annoying, and clearly the
- 4other guy's fault! Still unfinished but fun all the same!!
- 4Surely the definitive Acorn Freeware scramble game.
- 4Paul G Hallam. v0.83

- 1{HRail28}{JCDFS::PDCD_5.$.Games.Rail28}
- 4!Rail is a combination of game and simulation, where you are an
- 4assistent in the traffic control room of a railwaystation. Your
- 4goal is to let trains arrive on the platforms as given and direct
- 4the trains to their correct locations or exits.
- 4The is superb and highly recommended. Requires a Mode 28.
- 4!RailEd is also supplied in this archive, so users can design/edit
- 4their own maps to be played with !Rail28. At first sight creating a
- 4map may look easy and straightforward. However, there comes more to
- 4it: defining entrypoints, stations and platforms. Many of the data
- 4are interlinked, so editing one part of the data may have
- 4consequences for other parts.
- 4 The advised sequence, when creating a map, is therefore:
- 4 1 - First create all the tracks, points, signals, platforms etc.
- 4 2 - Secondly put in the entry-points and define them.
- 4 3 - Thirdly mark the station/depot-areas and define them.
- 4Although Entry's and Stations may be edited, this has to be done
- 4carefully.
- 4Jos Keijzers. Rail28 is verion 6.
-
- 1{HRisk}{JCDFS::PDCD_5.$.Games.Risk}

- 4of tiles to be varied and has three difficulty levels.
- 4Michael A. Smith. Shareware.
-
- 1{HSpots}{JCDFS::PDCD_5.$.Games.Spots}
- 4The aim of the game is to get as many SPOTS (=Smilies) as possible.
- 4There are two possibilities to moves:
- 4a) Choose one of your SPOTS (by using the mouse) and move within a
- 4range of one square (all directions possible). You will get one new
- 4SPOT and the old one will stay on its position.
- 4b) Choose one of your SPOTS and move within a range of two squares
- 4in any direction. The old one will move to the new square. In this
- 4way it is possible to move within a range of two squares, but you
- 4won’t win a further SPOT. At the end of the move all the neighbour
- 4SPOTS will change into your colour (all directions, too).
- 4The game will end, if all squares are filled up with SPOTS.
- 4Patrick Hinrichs. Shareware.
-
- 1{HSuperFE}{JCDFS::PDCD_5.$.Games.SuperFE}

-
- 1{HSwarm}{JCDFS::PDCD_5.$.Games.Swarm}
- 4Way back in 1987, Broderbund Software released a game called Crystal
- 4Quest which was rather fun to play. Nearly ten years later, there's
- 4a new version called Swarm. Written in about eight months for RISC
- 4OS, it's a little flashier than the black+white Mac version I played
- 4:-) You'll find parallax backdrops, particles flying everywhere,
- 4smoother animation, bonuses and a few other hidden features. I'd say
- 4that Swarm is a little bit tougher than Crystal Quest, but you'll
- 4find more bonuses available in Swarm.
- 4Matthew Bloch. v1.03.
-
- 1{HTangle}{JCDFS::PDCD_5.$.Games.Tangle}

- 4Michael A. Smith. Shareware.
-
- 1{HTiles}{JCDFS::PDCD_5.$.Games.Tiles}
- 4When you start the game, you will see a large 10x10 grid in the
- 4centre of the screen, consisting of tiles. At the top-left you
- 4will see a timer. When the game is in progress, the timer will
- 4be running. Underneath one of the tiles is a yellow coin. You
- 4have to find it, quickly. The trouble is you could just as
- 4easily get blown to bits.
- 4Andrew Ayre. v1.10.
-
- 1{HTrek}{JCDFS::PDCD_5.$.Games.Trek}

- 4This is a classic PD Invaders game (YAIG stands for Yet Another
- 4Invader Game). One not to miss with sprites of Loos, bananas,
- 4skulls, Z80 chips, the list goes on. A very good game, not to
- 4be missed. Desktop conversion James Cavanagh.
-
